QUOTE(apsidewatch @ Jul 25 2012, 11:19 PM) guys, im looking for an s3 to move from my bb. Usually contract phones in Malaysia are not locked if I'm not mistaken, contract phones in Aussie are mostly not as well, voda locks them but you can unlock them easily from their website for free for most phones. Since the S3 is quad band 3G, there's also no problem using them with voda or Telstra's 3G networks that uses the 850mhz spectrum.the prob is ,im studying in australia and currently on a contract with vodafone. thinking of getting the cheapest monthly plan in malaysia and ask my brother to pay for it. can i use it with carriers here or that it will be sim-locked? I'd just go and buy it outright in aussie though, grey importers like kogan, mobicity etc. are having some cheap price wars, might be cheaper than getting on a Malaysian plan. Snoop around ozbargain with the occasional sale from some random grey importers beating everybody else's price lol. |

NEVER EVER SIGN UP A PLAN/CONTRACT THEN LEAVE back to Malaysia . . . . It's a trend during my uni time in aussie and i found out even so now . Students sign up the maximum plan they r allowed and just leave with the phones , earning maybe a few thousand out of it . Problem is , I have a few friends who did that and now , they cant enter Aussie anymore . If they do , they will be stopped at immigration and asked to pay the amount they owed to the telco + interest + blablabla , costing ten over thousand aussie dollar . It's something they live to regret unless they decided to pay up the amount .I'd just go and buy it outright in aussie though, grey importers like kogan, mobicity etc. are having some cheap price wars, might be cheaper than getting on a Malaysian plan. Updated to BLG6/WanamV19. Smooth sailing so far with Domination's framework mods (only). Now with boosted sound and NO AUDIO CRACKLING WOOHOO even on Wanam StockMod kernel.
Now waiting for a full updated release from Vert to address the crashing phone issue. And also an updated AndroidGX systemUI. This post has been edited by Eiraku: Jul 26 2012, 04:49 AM |

QUOTE(azlan2812842002 @ Jul 26 2012, 06:22 AM) guys...i wanna buy s3 this week..but not buying at the samsung centre 1) look at the sticker seal, don't accept any that's not properly intact. Should only be opened in front of you.i have 2 question.. 1)how to know the s3 box is first time their open the seal? 2)how and what different the ap set with the ori set? 2) AP set = grey imports, basically overseas stock. They have overseas ROM on it out of the box and warranty if available is usually through the shop and maybe some third party repair company. Ori set is something that comes from Samsung Malaysia, warranty will be covered by Samsung Malaysia and if you want to claim the warranty, you can go and deal with Samsung at their service center straight away. There's usually a sticker on the box stating it's SME's set. Both have the exact same hardware. |

QUOTE(noobandroid @ Jul 26 2012, 07:49 AM) get from tskhor, i got mine from him foc with my new casing well previously i rooted using Added on July 26, 2012, 7:50 am cf-root is tool to root, cwm is a recovery mode, different thing, no need to change anything, once you use cf-root, cwm is installed - recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.1.0-i9300 (SU and CWM manager were included inside this build) - Odin_v3.04 - wanam 1.8 lite - titanium backup But this 2nd time through i used this - triangle away 1.7.0 - Odin_v3.04 - wanam 1.9 lite - CF-Root-SGS3-v6.4 - titanium backup The difference i notice is .... CFM manager now doesn't give me that warning message about fewer features because of incompatibility for the build. i am hoping to use titanium backup to recover my apps, so i will report later if i was successful So all is working fine, and i don't have any modified counters because i used triangle away This post has been edited by Moogle Stiltzkin: Jul 26 2012, 08:26 AM |
