my requirements quite fussy.
if i am going to spend 200k for the car it has to be able to do everything.
weekend rempit machine, weekday workhorse, have enough prestige for my position but not something over my MD, automatic (paddle shifters good plus point), not a problematic car which needs to always goto the workshop, must have a boot, high hp for highway cruising, high torque for in-city driving, not a petrol drinker, etc.

I m driving the K5 , but if u can afford .. Take passat.. Grand brand car company, awarded engine ,less CC better performance , sure better comfort than K5 , just K5 more features than passat.

The cabin of the GLI features sport bucket seats with red stitching and a sport flat-bottom steering wheel with red stitching, the GLI logo and aluminum accents. The overall interior styling consistently follows the sporty exterior lines of the car and includes a soft-touch dashboard and other premium interior trimming that were stripped out of lesser Jetta models for cost reasons.

The GLI is available in cloth or V-Tex Leatherette and also features alloy pedals, shifter, dash and door trim. To increase versatility, the rear bench seatback is split 60/40 and folds.

While lesser Jettas make do with a simple twist-beam rear axle for the latest generation (previously, all Jettas had a fully independent suspension), the GLI benefits a four-link independent rear suspension with an upgraded anti-roll bar. The DSG comes with steering wheel-mounted paddles for sequential-style shifting and rev-matched downshifts, and for the latest model year the transmission gains launch-control for speedy acceleration runs.

Equipped with the DSG, the GLI is rated at 24 mpg in the city and 33 on the highway, while opting for the row-your-own option will mean trading one city mpg for an extra one on the open freeway.

I have a question. Regarding the juddering issue faced by dsg 7 speed, if shifting manually using the tiptronic, will it stop/ minimize the judder effect? Thanks alot!

you can pickup a very new fiesta/focus for not alot of money.
ranger is different, very stable.

If Golf TSI vs Polo GTI, then it depends on which one is higher priority:
1) Width/bigger ? -> Golf GTI
2) or performance ? -> Polo GTI slightly better
