U can browse few pages back of this thread, our Stargate Brother, his cn is 9*** if not mistaken, today found oil leaking. Some who's chassis no. *635, *853 for example of those early batches, their car got no such thing bro.

Hopefully I do nit get a lemon. Heavily rely on my car for work purposes.

This is just a personal observation. Earlier on, some people claimed after the first service, their cars were more responsive. Having just done my first 1K service, I have to concur that the car does feel distinctly preppier.

Unlike initial thoughts, this improvement wasn't caused by a ECU remap. Rather it was a simple oil change to one that's presumably less viscous. The car is more willing to rev and feels more powerful. There is however a downside. Thinner oil also equates to a noisier engine. With the new & less viscous oil, when we experience engine braking the sound is more audible. Hence some may even mistake this sound as a 'feeling' the car is jerking. Odd how a simple oil change can have such an pronounced effect.

How many of you have brought their Preves to Genting Highlands? I think this is a good test of the car's performance. Please share your views on these areas of interest

• engine power
• handling
• the brakes when coming back down

My own thoughts are in the spoiler below. Would be great if you guys look at it only after you had shared your own views. That way, we can gauge the accuracy of it.

Getting my car this weekend.. can't wait =D

I drove to Genting when got my preve after 2 weeks time. The handling was superb and you never felt that the engine no enough power & wan to switch back to gear 2 or 1 like other car. I used D mode all the way up to top hill...left the vios, city, civic, camry behind

When coming down from Genting, can felt the engine like pulling the gear to slow down the speed...then I started to play with the paddle shifts, like driving manual car, very fun & nice experience.

But, FC used up quite a lot, you can see the estimated FC figures dropping very fast

next time try go up hill use paddle shifts... at gear 6 u can maintain 100km/h up high... lagi syok.

Never think of use paddle shifts when go up hill...still not yet get use to it that time
Will try next time...but driving 100km/h during up hill, don't u tin will it a bit too fast & dangerous?

i admit its kinda aggressive drove up. but to get a better understanding of all the respect performance of the car... best to test is up hill and down hill...if u are not comfortable... u can get in the speed u prefer... 80 or 90 its still ok.

Yeah, GH is a good place to appreciate the Preve. Would be better to go on a weekday when it's less crowded. Also better to go after 1K service. Don't forget to fill up with Ron97

Driving a Preve, at least it has good handling and easy to steer around corners at speed.

Look at those Myvis and Vivas speeding up and down Genting, those are scary.

Did see some Myvis speeding downhill. Think it's overly dangerous. Going uphill, Preve will have more torque than them. Not that hard to maintain the revs above 2.5K to stay in turbo mode. Do remember to let car cool down properly once you get to the top.

Yaya, noticed lots of myvis & vivas speeding around there...really worry for them.

ok 2nd fuel up...my fc seems to be ok b4 1k km service... i think

When going up GH, does the temperature bar maintain at 50% or higher.

My previous cars that I drove does registered higher than normal temperature when climbing up.

Temp remained at centre. SID was telling me car wasnt that hot. Unlike analog meters of olden days, I haven't driven this car long enough to know for sure if SID's reading is reliable. Do know the car was driven hard and turbo powered cars do get hotter than NA cars. So was a bit kiasu and decided to let it cool some more.
