currently watching the match against the Seattle. no time yesterday,
IMO ball movement in the middle of park is still weak. when the ball received by mceachren or obi mikel there is no one in front of them to pass to. IMO we could make create more opportunity with passes to CAM to winger rather than CB/CDM to winger.

it will be a big waste if we failed to sign oscar.
VERY VERY VERY intelligent footballer. he does his job. nothing fancy like CR or Neymar. drop deep to support & start the attack, always short & simple pass. No showboating.& when u expect he will take an extra touch (to control / hold the ball) he can distribute the ball with those simple 1 touch passes. Compose & calm.

on the other hand, bertrand started as RB!

BBC
QUOTE
Oscar, reportedly heading to Chelsea, was particularly superb in this respect, with a gift for finding space both to receive possession and pick out a team-mate.

Goal.com
QUOTE
The South Americans were unable to extend their lead in a much more even second half, but they continued to dominate possession and control the game through the impressive Oscar and Romulo.

TV Globo's Jon Cotterill on Oscar:
QUOTE
"I'd describe him as the brains of the team." (Guardian)

Added on July 21, 2012, 6:40 amOscar says he has had a meeting with the Doctor(medical done) but nothing signed yet, will decide after the olympics.

I do hope Oscar can live up to his reputation in epl.

I'd say with Oscar and Cesar, we'd be complete!
But heard we bid for Lewandowski. Prolly as backup for Torres?

Oscar undergo medical...once done will sign contract next...

A failed 17mil pound on Lewandowski...I do not think we will increase the bid. One think is for sure, Chelsea is looking for another striker to fit in the no.11 shirt.

Oscar indeed is an intelligent player. Theres always intent in his play, be it passing or off the ball movement. Eventhough he seems like an average player in layman's eye (less showboating), but surely hes not. In my personal opinion, hes the type player that enable others to shine.

i don't mind if we fail to sign him. we have plenty of player to cover for his position (essien, ramires, mikel, lampard + josh n romeau). if we wait till the ed of transfer windows, we might be able to buy a bargain (still remember how frustrated i am when Totenham sign VDV for a mere 8mill pound) huhuhu

look like oscar waiting for more offers. i believe city will jump in the race by then. don't really mind if he does'nt join us. we always have josh as lampard successor. love to see our own product make it to the first team. as for willian, he's not necessary imo. 26mil for bench players is ridiculous.

NEXT : THORGAN

QUOTE

"It should be official tomorrow," he told the club's official website late on Thursday.

"(When I arrived) there was no intention of letting him go and I met him very quickly after my arrival to show my confidence in him.

"He still had one year left and it was proposed he extended it but he told me eye to eye that did not interest him and he wanted to leave Lens.

"I realised 48 hours later why, when I learned Chelsea wanted him. I understand."

Lens coach Jean-Luis Garcia admitted that keeping the young Belgian was going to be tough.

He added: "He is a boy of 19, his elder brother signs for Chelsea and he is urged to do so by the same club, who won the Champions League.

"Congratulations to Thorgan. Unfortunately we cannot go against such an opportunity. Good luck to him."
after this Kylian and Ethan.. laugh.gif

certainly impressed with oscar. keeps things simple with immaculate technique. he has this knack of finding space in the middle of the field, without really running that much tongue.gif if anyone can pull up some statistics on his pass completion rate i'm pretty sure it's about 90%+ . he has a good awareness of the game but i would've love to see him add more range to his passing. it's no wonder spurs were looking at him as modric's replacement. now that they heard he's had a medical at SW6, suddenly levy has 'upped' their star player's price to 40 mill. don't think he's a happy camper atm laugh.gif

i agree with ichi, oscar just doesn't want all the hype that comes with officially signing on the dotted line. those complicated terms, swarming journos, official interviews, pictures, schedules, etc. it can get distracting especially as he's involved in a major tournament. it would make absolutely no sense for him to have a medical with us, with no real intention to sign. if he's flirting with other clubs believe me right after the medical he would've taken a short tour to white hart lane or something. besides, internacional would go BALLISTIC and would've reported us to FIFA by now if he didn't have permission to speak to us, never mind having a medical.
