1 and 2 is same context question, yeah high but dont worry about any application running in background, let RAM work for you, never use any task manager unless you wanna open very big apps taht need big RAM

My notification sound "Whistle" only half way then stop when message come in....Restart few time still the same...
Anyone facing the same issue?
*
I'm facing the same problem too. Usually i solve the problem by exit to homescreen before i lock my phone.
I realised that the problem only occurs when i lock my phone while i'm still in the messaging app.

Meaning that once I have rooted already, forever it will not support updating via KIES? If that's the case, then my journey of discovery will stop here then. tongue.gif

Time to start playing with custom ROMS. Want to try Wanna 1.7 already. biggrin.gif

may i know the answer to this question too. so once i root my stock firmware, KIES can't be used anymore for future upgrades (i am talking stock firmware upgrades)?

i am not interested to use custom firmwares. i just want my stock firmware rooted that's all

thanks for the usual prompt answer

p.s. this should put on the first page. non geeks like me rooting their phones will always come across this problem.

KIES can be used still even ur phone is rooted provided you still stay on a stock firmware by Samsung. but if you allow any OTA update to ur phone, it means you will lose your root, thats all.

Whoa. What a very... long thread. I forgot which 1 I was last seen at.

After updating, I did not root my phone. For now, lol. @Ramz, update, run root again after update from KIES, simple.

Just downloaded and flashed the Stock ROM from SamMobile. The ROM is actually from Phillipines (GLOBE) but somehow changed to reflect Malaysia. sweat.gif

welcome aboard.. stock ROM itself is very impressive ady..
*
yeah so far im pretty impressed. the s3 on stock battery life is better than my s2 with root and cm9.

the LED notification is super awesome in the office. i dont have to continuosly wake the screen to see if anything came in. but i wanna start modding the phone la. hehe so itchy try checkrom3.5. biggrin.gif

QUOTE(noobandroid @ Jul 16 2012, 11:46 AM)
you do it when you want to warranty it
*
normally its advisable to do right after rooting right? imagine its not done, and there is an issue with the phone and you are not able to use triangle away. then you send it for claim, they check the phone and manage to boot and check that the counter has increased. bye2 warranty. just to be safe, and since its so simple, better just reset the counter.

unlike the S2G, need to get jig and all..at least this phone is simple. on the i9100g we can count the amount of Roms with one hand. on this phone im so confused on which to use...hahahahah

Lol. I was selling em back in the day, and yeah it's good. Very good. Only downside is there's only one within a pack - which makes it even less value for money.

I wonder how they're gonna get around the curved glass issue if it ever comes out though.
