Just realised that after rooting and flash custom roms, now KIES does not support upgrading of firmware with my phone.
Guess I will have to rely on ODIN and CWM then. Am I correct? |

Good morning. Another noob question from me again.
Unrooted the phone to test if I could do so in case of warranty claims. But when I plug the phone to Kies, it now says that the phone not supported to upgrade via KIES. Will this also void the warranty? I am not worried as I can always update via ODIN if I need to. |

Can someone who can update via KIES share their latest firmware version. On my PC, it keeps saying it does not support upgrading via KIES.
I have rooted previously and unrooted as well as clearing the counters but KIES still say not supported. Downloaded the stock kernel from SamsungUpdate website. My current firmware version is PDA:LG1/PHONE:LF3/CSC:LF1(GLB). Is this due to a mismatch in my firmware? |

QUOTE(ranc79 @ Jul 16 2012, 02:36 PM) just go to download the latest fw from sammobile and flash it using odin.. as if those who update through kies.. the file s will be 700MB ++.. so it's no different you go and get it from sammobile Meaning that once I have rooted already, forever it will not support updating via KIES? If that's the case, then my journey of discovery will stop here then. Time to start playing with custom ROMS. Want to try Wanna 1.7 already. |

Just downloaded and flashed the Stock ROM from SamMobile. The ROM is actually from Phillipines (GLOBE) but somehow changed to reflect Malaysia.

Important update. I managed to get KIES to recognise my phone for updating after unrooting. Was researching this for a few days and realised that the stock ROM downloaded from Sammobile and SamsungUpdate has GLB (Phillipines Globe) as the default CSC.
What you need to do is to perform *#272*YOUR IMEI# and select XME as the correct CSC after you have restored the stock ROM. Now KIES will be able to recognise your phone and allow you to update the firmware via it. Hope this helps someone. |
