Looking for Ultrabook

1. Preferred Brand: Except Acer
2. Budget: RM2.5K to RM3k (the cheaper the better)
3. Usage: Office works (MS Office, presentations), if games only FB games
4. Preferred laptop/screen size: 13/14... lightest possible for portability

Looking for the cheapest Sandy/Ivy Bridges. Already got a  i5 SB notebook. Just need something portable.

1. Preferred Brand: any will do.
2. Budget: RM 3500 max (top up a lil more would be considered)
3. Usage: multitasking, movies, facebook, songs, some light photo editing
4. Preferred laptop/screen size: 13"
5. Preferred processor: Intel Core i5 standard voltage(i7 if possible with my budget)

Hi guys,

I'm looking for a laptop, for girl use. Would prefer it to look sleek and light, but would not want a ultrabook processor if possible.
Looking for something like ASUS U36SG. Are there any successors to this model? Seems like it is stuck at the 2nd gen Core processors.

I have taken interest in ASUS Zenbook, but still seeking advice from sifus here for more options as I would prefer standard voltage CPU.
Thanks in advance!!  notworthy.gif

Tq sifu PFTJ,

U have read my mind despite forgetting to put full SSD in the requirements. I am afraid the normal HDD might go kaput earlier compared to SSD due to portability during usage.
Anyway, is there any significant difference for office work in term of Sandy Bridge VS Ivy Bridge?
Tq again for the recommendations.

Looking for notebook to have audio, visual and "little" gaming performance...

1. Preferred brand: any will do. (afraid of overheat issue)
2. Budget: 2.7k
3. Usage: Watching a lot of movies, multi-tasking, sometimes gaming.
4. Preferred laptop screen size: 15" (must with NUMPAD)

Additional preferences:
a. The screen is better to be watchable in most viewing angles and good display.
b. the audio performance must not be weak
c. must have USB 3.0 port.
d. warranty reputation is good with the company and could get assistance in places like Melaka and KL which is the 2 places which I travel oftenly...

Pretty much these
15.6"
Asus N56VZ-S4079V, i7-3610QM + Nvidia GT650M + (1920 x 1080) + BluRay@RM3599[Bang&Olufsen], 4GB, 1TB, W7HP, subwoofer and backpack
Lenovo
Ideapad Y580, i7-3630QM + Nvidia GTX660M + 1920x1080 @RM2999[JBL], 4GB, 500GB(5400rpm), W7HBasic, backlit keyboard, 2 yrs warranty, P950 headset
Ideapad Y580, i7-3610QM + Nvidia GTX660M (2GB) + (1920x1080) + Bluray@RM3599[JBL], 8GB, 1TB HDD(7200rpm), W7HP, backlit keyboard, 2 years international warranty

15.6" notebooks are mostly pretty poor in terms of battery runtimes in return for uber performance, so you might want to compromise a bit on that aspect
Alright then what are the recommendations for 14" ?

1. Preferred brand - Any
2. Budget - RM2.5k - RM3.5k
3. Usage - Gaming, Media, Video and Photo editing
4. Preferred screen size - 14''

additional preference - long battery life, does not overheat easily, W7, with Num Pad

Thanks in advance

HDDs are not that fragile la haha laugh.gif
Even if they kaput you could always put in your own SSD which is probably much cheaper and offer much more space during that time brows.gif
Nope, for normal office work, you won't be able to tell the difference at all between SB and IB brows.gif

Can consider these, but RM2k gaming machines are not really very good for hardcore game graphic settings nod.gif
