hello.
gonna asking some noob question here biggrin.gif

if i gonna buy the y580 soon, what should i do when purchasing it ? do i need to ask something from the seller or just come, pay and balik ?

and i read some post about they wanna add ssd bla bla .

help me please . again tongue.gif rclxub.gif
*
Err, basically:
1. Go to shop with money
2. Order/buy the laptop
3. Go home with laptop happily

If you just want to get the laptop original without any modifications then follow the steps above smile.gif
They add SSD to increase the efficiency/faster, of course its more expensive.

1. Brand: Asus / Lenovo (i7 3610QM)
2. Budget: RM3k ~ RM3.6k
3. Usage: Multimedia (good sound quality) and light gaming
4. Preferred laptop/screen size: 15"6 with Full HD

I try to compare Lenovo Y580 and  Asus N56VZ-S4079V , both are RM3,599. But it seem Asus has better sound technology ~  hmm.gif

Which one is better ? Or any other suggestion ?  icon_question.gif

Thanks ~  rclxms.gif

Pretty much only these two.
The sound system is almost the same, maybe Asus sounds better with the subwoofer.
But Lenovo have better GPU.

So it depends on which you personally like smile.gif

Hi! I'm considering of buying a new laptop. I really need your help.

1. Brand: Any, as long as it fulfills the criteria I want.
2. Budget: <RM2K, the less the better.
3. Usage: Assignments, multimedia (Photoshop, video editing softwares, movies, etc)
4. Preferred laptop/screen size: <14", preferably HD

p.s I'm a student, not in multimedia course. Since I have interest in such things that's why I want a high performance and low-priced laptop.

Suggestions/recommendations are welcomed, and thank you smile.gif

By the way, I've come to the last 2 contenders in my notebook buying list:

ASUS N56VZ (i5 + GT650M) vs Lenovo Y480 (i7 + GT650M) hmm.gif

I have great difficulties in choosing one of em'...
On one hand, the N56VZ has extremely nice design + 15.6 display, less the Quad i7 processor with higher price tag, and on the other hand the Y480 packs amazing power within its bulky and a rather-too-plain look with much cheaper price tag. So one is value for design whilst the other a value for performance  wub.gif

or are there any laptop better that these?

If you're talking about gaming performance, these are undisputed at that price range.

Lighter, Lenovo Y480 iinm.
Better in temperature/cooler, Asus N56VZ as it is running on i5, less heat generated.

There is not much for that budget for 17" laptops. You can try this:

MSI GE70, i7-3610QM + Nvidia GT650M (2GB) + (1920x1080; anti-glare)@RM4599, 8GB, 750GB(7200rpm), W7HP, 2 years warranty, gaming mouse & backpack, free SteelSeries QCK Mass Mousepad

*
If you're okay with ultrabooks, then this:

HP
[Ultrabook] Envy4-1043TX/1053TX, i5-3317U + AMD HD7670M + [32GB mSATA + 500GB(5400rpm)]@RM2599[Beats][1.75kg], 4GB, W7HP

Dell
Inspiron 14R (Special Edition), i5-3210M + Nvidia GT640M(28nm Kepler)@RM2199[2.38kg], 4GB, 500GB(7200rpm); backlit keyboard optional

These have pretty good speakers, one is Beats and the other is Skullcandy.
Still 14" laptops though.
