letsay market price for my bike is RM5000
but i only insured RM4000 so im just covering 80% of the bike price. if the bike is stolen, they only cover 80% from RM4000 = RM3200 maximum payment. let say accident repair cost RM1000, so insurance company will pay 80% = RM800 only .. so downside under insured the bike. if stolen, if u have loan facility, it not might covering all loan left u might to topap some of your cash. If i owe credit/bank RM5500, so they covering RM3200 only right. i need to topup RM2300 with my own cash. so do the accident.... |

QUOTE(detomaso @ Sep 2 2012, 11:42 AM) letsay market price for my bike is RM5000 Correct or not this one?but i only insured RM4000 so im just covering 80% of the bike price. If bike stolen, and the adjuster value the bike at RM4k, means will pay full amount. Not 80%. But, if you insured more, but adjuster value it less, then you won't get full sum insured. The value insured, is how much the bike is valued if trade in, not when you buy. It is lower compared to market price. Example, 2nd hand LC you bring to kedai, trade in value maybe 3.5k, but taukeh later sell 4.2k. Sum insured should follow the trade in value. Of course, if sial motor stolen, and then not satisfied with the amount, you can buat rayuan to the insurance company. Maybe they give you another few hundred extra, maybe not... This is the experience I learn from a stolen car. That's why insurance company buat tak tahu one, bila renew, they senyap-senyap the sum insured, let you pay more. But, when something happen, then, need 3rd party adjuster la, then end up pay you 70% of sum insured. To get correct sum insured, pandai-pandailah, go to kedai motor ask trade in value how much. Or, look for a bike similar condition to your bike, and then minus about RM500. I would say, not surprising if your LC, after few years, value only left half only. This is why I learn to maintain my own motor, and choose to ride a 2 stroke bike. This post has been edited by alexei: Sep 4 2012, 04:19 PM |

Usage compare to car for about KM 25000 for 1.5yrs only manage to save about 3.6k. Now bike value got shop will want to take for 4.5k because of modi2 parts. Top speed manage to clock 135km/h GPS with 42 liter Givi Box. Conclusion, I still rugi 3.5k if my bike got stolen....So now ppl still wan to modi.....besides me ther other rider here also spend a lot of money d.... Positive reviews in MBC. Worth a try.
JTX like some super high tech oil processing factory setup in Malaysia. Looks like Hai-O bought the rights to the brand and marketing it now. |

QUOTE(alexei @ Sep 4 2012, 04:12 PM) Correct or not this one? Click here. This what insurance company have to follow. This is why I learn to maintain my own motor, and choose to ride a 2 stroke bike. Btw this site is under bank negara, u trust insurance company or bank negara? insurance company just want to sell the policy while bank negara controls all money in malaysia please dont under insured if u able to pay the policy premium different between sum insured value of suggested market price and ur budget, please dont refer bike shop as tauke take ur bike cheaper to gain profit, but refer mudah/autotrader/mototrader for ur bike current price... my bike is year 2009, most sellers(by refering 2nd hand market price).. the bike easily marked 5k notch... i under insured as i bought policy for insuring the bike RM4000(insuring = 80% market price)... so definitely marked as under insured... if stolen or anything happen, insurance pay out only 80% from my bike cover note which is 4000, which is equivalent = RM3200 ... Added on September 7, 2012, 1:12 amChecked the highlighted mark. Sum insured 80k, loss is 5k, car/moto value is 100k. takaful operator only pay 4k instead 5k of losses, u need to fork out another 1k on your own. if ur vehicle still haf loan facility, lil bit sakit if the vehicle got stolen and under insured... u have to bear the differences of loan and insurance payment. letsay car worth 50k(car value) insured 40k value, owe with bank 50k 40k = 80% from 50k so maximum insurance company pay out is RM32000 only. owe with bank 50k minus maximum insurance payment is RM32000, RM18000 u have to bear on your own. its very very great loss....
