QUOTE(raif @ Mar 12 2013, 03:46 PM) I own that particular model. Anyway I bought this unit solely for its 3d though I admit after bought it, I don't really really see 3d as much as I expect to Anyway the bad edge light bleeding is quite noticeable but I'm used to it by now. Nothing major though...only when light is dark and the screen is black. To me, it's nothing, really!! PQ is nice, astro OK (wish all channels are HD). HD material imho is superb. If you do get this unit, you've got to calibrate it to get the black levels and PQ that is optimal to you. There're few suggestions calibration presets from this thread. In conclusion, I'm so far satisfied with this unit and I believe it's a good buy, but then again it's just me. Good luck with your decision hi raif, thanks for you input. May I ask if you have noticed severe motion blur or it it pretty good at handling it ? Especially during football and fast action . Also how do you find the black levels ? Do they appear washed out ? I really like this unit, for the design etc but leaning towards Sharp 840X due to black levels and motion . appreciate ur input.

As you know, the unit comes with trumotion but I don't like this feature and I turn this off. If you look at the suggested presets, you'll find that most too will suggest this feature be turned off. Without trumotion, I don't think there is any severe motion blur (at least I didn't notice it). I watch a lot of sports on astro and all motion have been fine. Again, black levels are fine with the presets that I use.

QUOTE(sequid @ Mar 13 2013, 01:02 AM) The video is from 2011. The model LG used was LW series. The video has much of the discussion I've read about the downside of passive 3d compared with active, so content wise, nothing new. However, for me, the buying decision had came down to the glasses used. I have a big family and if friends and family come over, then active technology is a no-no (active glasses are expensive!!). Imho, I think the LM series offers a relatively good 3d viewing experience as long as : 1) you don't view higher than the tv (the vertical mentioned in the video) 2) You sit relatively straight looking at the tv or at most within 30 degrees viewing angle 3) sit 4 feet or more from the set This post has been edited by raif: Mar 13 2013, 02:42 PM

Again, black levels are fine with the presets that I use. If you are not used to a plasma you wont notice it. So not a big problem. Motion blur is referring to "softening of sharpness" on the images that was moving fast. Trumotion may improved the sharpness of the fast motion part of the image, but it however introduce a much harsher artifacts, that imo worse than motion blurring. Motion blur can be lesson and black levels can be improved when led scanning is on, overall backlight will dim. The downside of LED blinking; it may cause eyestrain, although it is not visible. Mea Culpa, my 1st hdtv is a plasma (panny). Still using it. I decided to get a 3D tv and my 1st choice was a panny plasma but too bad, panny plasma doesn't carry passive 3D technology, otherwise I would have already bought it. Like I said, from plasma to LED, the PQ looks almost the same (actually the LED is a tad brighter and colourful) but I sure do miss my plasma wide view angle viewing, well - almost. Me too, but im sensitive to active 3d, ill get serious headache and nausea into the 1st 30 min of using the active glasses. I own both led n plssma tho.. Led from lw series. Side by side reveals plasma maintains its sharpness even thers fast motion

Hmm...i thought there is no trumotion option for lm6700. Need to update firmware first. But mine already have. Does it mean mine is not a new unit? Looks new when i install it. Now im worried ;(

I don't know if this has been said here before or even by me. Here's where circular polarized 3D like the LG series comes in handy.
Cineleisure at The Curve uses a 3D system from MasterImage. I don't know if they allow you to take home the glasses but they should since you've already used it and they don't have the proper recycling ability.
The renovated TGV cinemas like Sunway and 1 Utama uses X-Mirror tech. No idea where this tech came from but TGV lets you bring home the glasses.
In both systems, the glasses are circular polarized. This means that you can reuse these glasses with the LG passive 3D TVs. And if you go to TGV, there's a used bin full of these glasses. You can take 10 and they won't care.

QUOTE(maiffa71 @ Apr 12 2013, 03:46 PM) Why I cant get the 3D out of screen picture like the demo movie with my LG 42 LM6700? For non 3d input you must turn the 2d to ,3d converter on. If u use download 3d, choose the type file, like side by side or top bottom, this can br found in the 3d menu, use the REMOTE. Be sure to sit 3 to 4 meters away from the tv screen else the 3 efffect breaks.
