LM9600 is their LAST backlit full array local dimming for 1080p.

All models of 2013 are edgelit for 1080p. Only their 4k tv are backlit.

The ips panel on lm9600 has a native refresh rate of 240hz double that of 120hz lm7600.

Exactly! You can dig my old post.

The LM6700 has  a native 60hz LCD, 120hz is archived via  black frame insertion or LED scanning.

HDGURU has proven this where a 120hz with TruMotion MC/ME (Motion compensation/ motion Estimation)  MUST produce at least 600 lines of motion resolution. In the case of LM6700 with TruMotion on, its still doing the lowly 320 lines, which is a typical 60hz LCD characteristic.

http://hdguru.com/lg-55lm6700-hdtv-review-...z-updated/8281/

Why go for 120hz ?  120hz LCD (240hz LED specification) gives you even division of 24hz, to produce proper pulldown of 5:5 for pure 24hz performance.

LM6700 is 60Hz, thus succumb to 3:2 pull down which produce JUDDER! To overcome this it must engaged Trumotion, unfortunately its not 24p BUT 60p (Soap opera effect - many people hates it) . It defeats the purpose of 24p Blu-Ray.

LM7600 is GREAT with or WITHOUT TruMotion.

Thanks bro but am just blew away by LG . Bro, need your personal advise..am thinking of getting either the LG 55'LM8600 and the 55' LM9600 hence appreciate your opinion in terms of quality, performance and overall value on these 2 models. If these 2 models were to cost the same, which one would you rather go for and why ? Appreciate feedback and thanks bro.

I believe due to cost prohibitiveproduction for full array sets lg dropped lm9600 sometime ago. So those lm9600 could just b older stocks. The newer batch of 8600 could cost higher.

Btw nano leds used on lm9600 are no the same like those used on edge led. I think they r less brighthter since they are much smaller but used in greater numbers to create even brightness snd greater number of dimming zones. Also contribute to the thin design. The catch here is do nano leds share the same reliability and durability with those bigger led used on edge lit? No so sure but nano leds is in their 4k tv of 2013 line.
