What's the meaning of 'ppoi'? I've seen them use that a lot (e.g iroppoi) and have been wondering what it means. And how to use the ppoi word?
*
-poi is a fashionable version of -rashii, in Bahasa Malaysia, "macam <noun>" or in English "like <noun>" or "<noun>-like".

Example

"Ninjappoi da zou?" = "ninja-like right?"

Whats the difference between Oppai and Mune?
*
QUOTE(Aiko-chan @ May 3 2008, 10:12 PM)
IF i'm not mistaken
oppai is more specific to boobs, whereas mune means chest
*
Mune might refer to "heart" (kokoro) in poetic form.
But I like oppai tongue.gif

This is actually a good example of a polite Japanese phrase, except for some minor grammatical construction mistakes.

"nihongo ga dekiru kata-gata  ga  ippai irassharu nante." would be more appropiate.
"kata" can mean Shoulder, but it also means person(polite)

"kata-gata" is a plural of "kata" dekiru kata = person who is able to.... dekiru katagata = people who are able to....

an example of use of "kata" would be;

そちらの方は、貴方の奥様ですか?
sochira no kata ha, anata no okusama desuka? (is this (person) your wife?)

it gives a more polite impression compared to;
socchi no hito ha, anata no okusama desuka?
*
i just poke fun. keigo is good... but i hope we are not too polite in this forum, just be casual, I guess...
there is a joke about shijyukata (squared elbow), I just can't stop laughing when he said "katagata".

domo arigatou mina sensei.
*
as simple as asking "anata no neru jikan wa?"

QUOTE(Gamatatsu0207 @ Jun 10 2008, 06:20 PM)
Correct me if I'm wrong....

"What time you go to sleep?" =

"Nan-ji ni nemasu ka?"(polite way) or

"Nan-ji ni neru nn desuka? /  ...neru ka?" (If you & second person is ady know each other)
Don't ever2 ask....

"Isshouni nemashou.... brows.gif "

...otherwise he/she slap u..UNLESS he/she knows u well.... brows.gif  brows.gif
....EEECCHHHIIIIiiiiii......!!!

in uni - I took French for foreign language, I am afraid to pawn all the other students in Japanese tongue.gif

Still I do good in French scoring a 3.33 average every semester for the three semesters I took the subject.
