yup, i dont think there's speed dial, i look through all the settings but cant find.
not really a big deal, just curious why its not there. speed dial is very common, weird that smart phone dont have this.


oic...thanks for the info on TTY, guess i dont need it, my hearing is working fine currently.



about the long press back to kill app,
i think the time delay is too short, about half a second it kill the app already,
too bad cant set the delay like in JKAY mod. disabled this feature already cos i accidently kill my launcher few times. lol...

That's not a good solution. That affects all the long press delay.
even browser wana long press to open tab will delay as well.

using aokp rom.

why phone cannot silent one?
i pull down the toggle, set to vibrate, but when receive message.
it still will make sound and got vibrate.

if i set it to silent, it will make sound and no vibrate.
i choose mute, also it got sound?

i thought is hancent sms app problem,
uninstalled and using stock messaging app.

same problem?
what kind of weird problem is this?
haiya, i just want phone to be stable....why all rom i try also got bug one....sien la....

using ressurection rom 2.6, and siyah kernal 3.4.1,
whats goin on?

never heard people complaining about this.
so frustrating to have this issue, i quite like aokp and want to stick with it.

i was so confuse cos i set it silent already.


edit: haiz, flash to siyah 3.2 still like that....

sgs2 so many roms, but all types also got problem....

move away from sammy rom cos long fc bug, jkay mod cause status bar clock freeze

aokp rom seems perfect, but got cant silent bug. haiyo...if phone cant silent then cant use it as daily rom already...

i'm sure many are curious how it looks after being squashed by a vehicle.

is your phone rooted? got cwm?
if yes, pray that underneath the damage, the phone is functioning.

do a cwm backup to your external sd card.
its abit hard, without looking, but let us know the kernal you are running,
and we'll post screen shot of the cwm recovery, just control with your volume buttons and do a backup.

it works for aosp, aokp, samsung rom, miui.

paranoid is based on aosp, so yeah, it will work

solved the unable to silent bug,
its not really a bug to begin with.

i have no idea why the sound settings
under volumes,

got 2 check box:
~link volumes
~link mute states.


i need to tick the link mute states.
only then will the notification tone be silent as well when the silent toggle is enabled.

not sure i accidentally change this settings or it came as default from the rom.
cause me massive heart attack and increase blood pressure.

i reflash the rom still like that,
change kernal,
wipe this wipe that....
finally realize this is the prob.

do a cwm restore,
and just changed that settings, problem solved! brows.gif


i just feel like a complete idiot for my noobness rclxub.gif

how is it compare to resurrection?

any thing special and exclusive about it?
i read the description, its pure aokp.

resurrectionone add some wallpapers, some little theming.

i choose resurrection since it got more view,
i remember this rom got long history, one of the first custom ics roms.

any thing nice about pier?
if good, i dont mind switching.

last resort is install and use kies, a pc program, hook it up with your usb cable.
then backup all your contacts and sms.

power on and screen got light doesn mean its fully functional.

super fast is abit exaggerating la.
actually on sammy rom everything also fast and smooth.

there really isnt big big speed difference.
but there are more animations on RR rom compare to sammy ones.

also, when you switch task from task switcher,
it will have a jellybean kind of animation, really slick and nice.

too bad its not constant across the UI,
sometimes is fade in fade out animation, sometimes is jellybean animation.

the biggest difference is the browser.
samsung really destroyed the stock ics browser with its modification.
the stock ICS one is really good, i stop using chrome already and use stock as my main browser.

by the way i recognize your avatar,
you're the guy that preorder nexus7.

you'll be getting yours on tuesday.

i use this as main camera app.
launch slightly faster than the stock one.

another reason i like is bigger shutter button.
samsung ori one the shutter button so small

i dont know about the battery life.
seems same to me when using samsung rom.

if you worry battery life,
flash the remove vibration mod for lock screen.
i believe it will save alot of juice.

imagine everytime unlock phone also it vibrate.
wasting unnecessary juice.

1. yes, officially root void waranty, but can unroot, and flash back stock rom. they wont be any trace. unlike HTC phones.

2. yes you can also. but really no point in doing so. the 2.3.6 one alot of issues. ICS really saves the G version.

3. can use USB jig, i read that there is a new root method that doesnt increase counter.

Of course that it's not everything, the kernel have a lot of "guilty" in this issue, after read the feedback of the users i think that the top for better battery is:
CM9 Kernel
DarkKnight Kernel
Fluxi Kernel
Siyah Kernel
But remember this is very subjective, all depends of the customization that you made over the kernel.


so based on feedback CM9 default kernal is the most efficient one,
where to download CM9 standard kernal? can it work on non CM9 roms?

i googled "cm9 sgs2 kernal"
but results for siyah appear...weird

looking for some call recording app.

last time in checkrom v6, anytime during call can start recording by pressing the button.

i tried 3 recording app, all of them either can only record one side voice,

and all of them cant start recording half way during call.
need to activate, then only it start recording on next call.

hm...got good app that is working with sgs2 that can record half way during call?
