i love the new update. it makes my 2 yr Mozart looks like new

like i said, official 7.8 not much changes only the bigger tile with small tile. go for custom you will WOW!!!

Nothing else. Noticeably the warm feeling only occurs when I play Xbox Live games.

No lagging. If I have to be nitpicking, the response time after you touch a tile to launch an app is slower compared to in WP7.5. Not significant, but heck, mine is single-core and yet still performs brilliantly.

walauweeee.. so hard to install the update... try numerous method to force it but still unable...

anyway.. lastly manage to get it

what i did was... run the update from zune for 3 times to know how long it to show "phone already update"
first one, is 10sec,
2nd one, is 9sec
3rd one is 10sec..
average to show "no phone update" about 10sec
on the 4th update, i run the update for bout 8sec (average update - 2sec) n disconnect my wifi connection, i do this so the phone can connect to the update server...
oh yeah... turn on the airplane mode
n walaaaa.. already updated
but its a hassle...

Heathcliff74 from WP7 Root Tools fame has detected what appears to be a somewhat serious bug in the new Windows Phone 7.8 start screen.

He noticed that his phone, which has been upgraded to Windows Phone 7.8, used 600 MB in less than a day, at around 1 MB/ minute, and was rapidly draining its battery.

Most of would have been flummoxed, but Heathcliff of course had the tools at hand to investigate the issue. He discovered that an app with a live tile was querying an erroneous, non-existent URL, and was being returned an error page.

On WP 7.5 the process would have gone to sleep and tried again in 30 minutes, but in WP 7.8 the process merely tried to query the same URL again, effectively going into a loop and sucking down both data and battery life in an infinite loop.

Heathcliff was able to confirm the issue was newly introduced with WP 7.8, and suggest all WP 7.8 users should watch their 3G usage – if it is higher than normal a rogue live tile may be to blame –unpinning it will solve the problem.

Developers should of course pay particular attention to the URLs they fetch to make sure their app is safe, but ultimately Microsoft needs to fix this new bug.

Noticed some lag when opening every single app.
Any official statement from microsoft about the lag?

I also feel slightly lag after upgrade. Just in case, is it possible to revert back to 7.5? I reset my phone still 7.8. I was hoping I can change the search engine to google, but it's not there.
