Have you check your data cable? Is it the same one that came with your phone? Some cables are for charging only not transfer data.

I used the one HTC provided along with the phone, icon_idea.gif

Threre should be only one network connected to your PC.
You dont need to physically disconnect.  Just disconnect using the network icon on your bottom right of your PC.

Jason, u may have the same problem with me.
Turn off Wifi (and obviously data also) on your phone, and try checking for update. If u get an error (8000FFFF) instead of "Your phone is up to date" message, you have the same problem as me i.e. Zune is checking for update via your phone, not your PC.

Turn on the wifi on your phone and check for update again, and time the whole processs until you get the "Your phone is up to date" message. After that, check for update again, this time, turn off the wifi ON YOUR PHONE 1 or 2 seconds earlier. Whether your PC is connected to the internet is irrelevant.

the force update need timing... the right timing hit your device will pop up software update available... same like last time "Mango"

well, wondering why you all didn't straight go for custom?? because of spl lock?? can do downgrade right??

custom have more than official 7.8 , ask noorimanyosh he knew how's custom work!!! laugh.gif

best part is the market select tools enable us to select exclusive app from nokia market / htc market / LG market / samsung market.

@noorimanyosh post tutorial please smile.gif

I don't mind trying customs since i'm way past my warranty and my phone's crashing issue will force me to upgrade to a new handset sometime in the near future.

It may sound stupid, but plugging Internet connection off while Zune is checking for update numerous times sure works! rclxms.gif It somehow reminds me to "cheat" Digimon to get your desired monster. If you know what I mean. tongue.gif

I tried about 15 times to get all the updates, although my update history is

8779 --> 8783 --> 8858 --> NOKIA Update for Windows Phone.

A bit different from some of you guys. Mine is black Lumia 800.
