for me a tablet really need a sd expansion slot as i love reading manga a lot.. my manga collection alone hav a >40gb . n i dunwan to delete n put a new series over n over again.. but i dun really mind for nexus 7 case, as it is built n aim for performance n budget tablet.. that is fair enuf.

Definitely getting a nexus 7 16gb because all i need is a slightly bigger screen for browsing, documents, appointments and games. hehehe.

haha, cant help it, lov manga since standard 3, hav tons of manga comic from our local comichouse, dragonball,dragonquest, kindaichi hajime, rave etc, my mum burn all of it when i was in standard 6 due to reading it too muc, devastated n thinking our running away from home , start collecting it again, but thank god today everything r already digital, so i can save money but hav to invest in storage medium hahaha that is why i need my tablet to hav more space as muc as possible.. currently using 16gb sony tabet s wit 32 gb sd, the sd alone for my manga.. so i hv to pass for nexus altho i love asus n jellybean looks very interesting n tempting..

Agreed! It all depends on what u r using the tablet for. In this world, it's impossible to have a "one size fits all" kinda gadget.

I am planning to get a Nexus 7 for myself. Before that, I want to clarify something with all the sifus here:

1) if they said they will ship in mid-july, does it mean that it will reach the US address in July itself? My uncle is coming back in early august and I'm planning to ask him to bring it back for me.

2) about USB-OTG, i understand from the previous post that the N7 has to be rooted first before we can use pendrive with it right? how to "root" the device or where can we get it done?

3) since google play is not supported in malaysia, does that means i need to ask my uncle to use the $25 to download stuffs in US before bringing it back?

4) the only way i can download content such as ebook into my N7 is via wifi only, am i right?

Any advice/comments are welcomed. Thanks in advance.

2-There's a guide on how to root on the front page,it's not hard at all.

3-Google's Play Store is available here but you can only get apps,no movies or music available. From what i read at XDA the 25$ will be credited to the account that is added to the Nexus 7.

4-Wifi,BT,USB. That's basically it.

Does anybody has the link to the pre-order? I keep getting the message "Sorry! Devices on Google Play is not available in your country yet." when I try to enter Google Play website.

perhaps it is a sign for you to not root your device yet. It is difficult for a reason, it can actually kill your devices if it is not maintained properly. Learn and understand what it is and how it works, most people don't really understand what root is, and it is actually very different than jailbreak.

you need to access via a proxy located in the country where the N7 will be sold. else you will get the message you mentioned.

AFAIK the adapter is dual voltage.

will it be cheaper to get it from nearby country like lets say, australia?
