Where i will get best running shoes with cheap price?
*
with this type of question, my guess is that u've never run before or very seldom run..anyway, if ur budget is RM100 or below, look no further than Bata or Power or Dunlop or Rossi brand... smile.gif totally awesome..

when u've decided to budget for RM350, the we will talk about more generic brand (i.e. Adizero) or Newton or Brooke or saucony.. smile.gif thumbup.gif

you can request to join, with some conditions:

1. must not just keep quiet, able to contribute to the discussion, let be it serious or trolling
2. if you are in Klang Valley, hope you can join us for some run together, that is the main reason, get to know each other and run together, pace and learnt from each other. (we have weekly Wednesday run in Desa Park City and almost every weekend LSD (sat or Sun) either in Puchong Kinrara (newton route) or Bukit Aman.
3. if you are outstation and when you are down in KL for run, at least say hi to us to tell us who you are.
4. after you are added, please don't just keep quiet. just briefly tell us more about yourself.

As simple as that. Enjoy running!

LYNRers & LYNR FBers,

Effective immediately, I will no longer assign any new LYNR numbers to those frequenting this thread or LYNR FB. Reason being, we see no use for the numbers (at least not yet). U can still request to be LYNR FB member (no numbers will be assigned there as well) at the FB page thru the mods there. As for this thread, anybody can post anything related to this sport. The majority of the events (LSDs, races) will be posted at the FB page as well. Those who have already been assigned numbers will keep the number. This thread remains as a compliment to the LYNR FB.

Thank you.

*
nod.gif nod.gif meaning if asking to join the FB group, we do not need to provide LYN number?..I do not have a LYN number, but hope to join the FB group to interact with fellow runners around malaysia. i'm fr east malaysia, i hope that is not a limitation to the FB membership.. smile.gif

A question pops up to my mine today.

Any smokers here? Or any ex-smokers?
Does smoking really affect your stamina in running?

Newbie seeking for advice ..

This Saturday going to have a 10km-marathon,

Breathe in and  out using nose or mouth ?

Is it alright if I wear normal school shoes to jog ?

Is it alright if I continue to jog even I'm already lacking of breath ? (Forcing myself)Will I faint or something ?

Any advice ? biggrin.gif
*
for 10k, u do a trial run and see how long it will roughly take u..let's say it will take u 55 minutes...then for the first 25 minutes, try to control ur breathing..breathing in using ur nose, then blow out thru the mouth, pretty much like a sigh...but dun breathe out too strongly..later outta breathe...then after the 25 minutes just use both mouth and nose to breathe in and out and exert urself...at least this strategy works for me...try it, who knows it may be suitable for u too..

normal school shoes?..if u are running not too hard and fast, then its fine...if u are doing a 10minutes/km, high heels can too...but if doing smth fast and HARD (pound the ground HARD), then maybe be advisable to get a jogging shoes...u only have 1 pair of legs ok...and this pair of leg is gonna have to support ur WHOLE body weight..treat it well!..

jog while u are lacking of breath?..if u are new to running, then I would be guessing that u will get side stitch first before u actually get out of breathe (due to u pushing urself too fast at the early stage).. tongue.gif but no worries, at the first page of this thread, there is some tips on handling side stitch courtesy of sifus here.. smile.gif try to pace urself, dun go too fast at the early stage...

MOST IMPORTANT, enjoy running and keep RUNNING!!!! rclxm9.gif rclxm9.gif rclxm9.gif

damm.. weather forecast says its going to rain tomorrow morning .... sigh... running my first HM.... will u guys continue to run even if it rains cats and dogs ??
*
I would!!! come rain or shine...can MC bah...i train in the rain occasionally..so no biggie.. smile.gif smile.gif if u got extra shoes, wear the lousier ones.. tongue.gif

Added on September 29, 2012, 11:21 amanyway, running in the rain u surely won't get dehydrated so fast..and actually it can improve ur speed and time..just dun wear cotton or anything that can absorb water..otherwise it will drag u down with more weight... smile.gif
