nope the clock of your rams is unbalanced but you upgraded, for you to be able to perform multiple task. well performance won't drop visibly. its just very tiny not to worry

xp32 bit will only show 3.25 gigs of ram out of a 4 gig ram(1 gig x 4), now we all know that.
but what would other programs installed in the win xp 32bit be showing??per say games.will it follow what the os is reporting(3.25) or will it follow the true amount we have put in the system?? |

From my mobo's spec I see the following statement for the memory.
• Supports four unbuffered DIMM of 1.5 Volt DDR3 800/1066/1333/1600* (OC) DRAM, 16GB Max Want to get more ram for my machine, but after searching from forum there's so many brand, which 1 is preferable ? I do OC abit but not much. Currently looking for 4GB x 2. 4G just not enuf for my usage now ;p 1 more question, I see RAMs nowadays have heat sink as well, are those really helpful ? |

Guys, some questions here. My pc has been running 2x1gb 800mhz kingston ram since i first assembled it, on the 3rd and 4th slot in my mobo, today, the mobo suddenly had some continuous beeping sound and it wouldnt boot up. After some troubleshooting, i manage to get it boot up by changing the ram to the 1st and 2nd slot. After that, my system only registered 1gb ram plucked in while both of the rams were in. I took out both the ram, and reinstalled it, and finally got the system to read as 2gb ram. So, does it means that my ram is almost till the end of their life? Or it is my mobo ram slot problem? 1 more question is, if i were to upgrade my ram and i plan to keep both my old rams, what would be the best bet? add another 2 x 1g to make it 4gig runs in dual channel or just add another 1 x 2g, without dual channel?

Try this, remove both the rams and clean the gold part using eraser. Not to hard, ensure both sides are cleaned. Try slotting it back. Could you provide your system specification too? easier to give you recommendation |

I had the similar problem like you. I brought a new RAM 1x 2GB Team Elite 800mhz DDR2 last year and found that problem to boot up and pc hang sometimes whenever the new RAM is used together with the old ones. my original RAM is kingston 2 x 1GB with 600 mhz that have no problem whenever I placed them back or re-install back when the PC hang or fail to reboot. Question is the new RAM cause the problem that required to change new ones or the difference mhz ie 600 & 800 mhz install together that cause problem? FYI, my mobo is able to take up to 800mhz DDR2. Please advise, guys. |
