QUOTE(arct @ Dec 10 2008, 07:36 PM) yup, i remembered lastime i tried to OC my rams; i could boot into windows and everything untill when i do heavy gaming, its proned to bsod. memtests of 1 hour shows no errors, 2 hours shows no errors. so i tried to leave it on and went to sleep. the next day memtest shows 2 errors. so sometimes maybe u'll have to stress it more to see if its stable or not. Well, i ran it for > 24hours without any problem though. But switched to another pair of value ram and everything worked perfectly. Guess i need to send my Crucial back for warranty.

Mobo is Gigabyte eG45M-DS2H and RAM is TeamElite DDR2 800Mhz If I'm not mistaken, your OS is 32bit and it only supports up to 3GB. You need a 64bit OS to fully support the ram above 3GB.

So if you have a 512MB ram there you can just remove it. However, I heard of a software called "RamDisk" can make use of the extra ram and actually make it accessible just like HDD. So, you will have a fast zone.

So, you will have a fast zone. the ramdisk is a software that act just like virtual memory in windows, you need to allocate some amount of your system memory to be the virtual memory, and choosing which program to load into in. so in turn, the program will running 'faster' as the seek time is reduce due to the fast cache of memory instead of HDD read head activity.

If your motherboard can support DDRII, it cannot support DDR as the slot and the voltage are different physically. Please correct me if I am wrong. From what I've seen from the pricelist, you can still get DDR rams at the local vendors especially lowyat computer shops.

Hello there. Hmm, recently my company is going to increase the ram for each pc. Those pc were bought on 2001 and most of them just have 256mb of ram.
Usually for pc on 2001, which type of ram is it? How can I check it?
I wish to know the price for it. As the technician charged double last time. Thanks!
