QUOTE(C-Note @ Dec 24 2008, 04:52 PM) hey guys i jz got a pair of RAMs today, adding em to my current specs. but how come Properties of My Computer only shows 3GB of RAM?? i'm supposed to have at least 3.5GB if i'm not wrong. Mobo is Gigabyte eG45M-DS2H and RAM is TeamElite DDR2 800Mhz If I'm not mistaken, your OS is 32bit and it only supports up to 3GB. You need a 64bit OS to fully support the ram above 3GB. |

QUOTE(C-Note @ Dec 24 2008, 06:53 PM) Your system supports up to 3GB of ram. So if you have a 512MB ram there you can just remove it.However, I heard of a software called "RamDisk" can make use of the extra ram and actually make it accessible just like HDD. So, you will have a fast zone. |

QUOTE(lunar sea @ Dec 30 2008, 05:23 PM) i have a old pc which still running on 256 ddr ram . wonder if i can upgrade it ? can i still find ddr ram ? or can i get a ddr2 use with ddr ? If your motherboard can support DDRII, it cannot support DDR as the slot and the voltage are different physically. Please correct me if I am wrong.how do i know if my mobo can support for ddr2 ram ? cos since bought it 2002, seldom use it ... From what I've seen from the pricelist, you can still get DDR rams at the local vendors especially lowyat computer shops. |

QUOTE(khaishin @ Jan 10 2009, 11:35 AM) Hello there. It's either DDR266 or SD133. I suggest you download a software called CPU-Z at www.cpuid.com to check.Hmm, recently my company is going to increase the ram for each pc. Those pc were bought on 2001 and most of them just have 256mb of ram. Usually for pc on 2001, which type of ram is it? How can I check it? I wish to know the price for it. As the technician charged double last time. Thanks! |

QUOTE(alansnow @ Feb 6 2009, 06:12 PM) i wanna upgrade my laptop ram Do you mean where the ram(s) located or where you can buy the ram? the model is compaq presario m2000 current ram is 512mb may i know where can i upgrade it? how much it cost? (max 1gb?) kindly advise.... thanks ya By the way, I just checked the spec at http://www.pcworld.com/reviews/product/245...ario_m2000.html. Your model uses a DDR333 So-DIMM ram. You can get a DDR400 SO-DIMM ram for your laptop but not DDR2 ram. You can check it out at garage sales. I expect the price of such rams to be around RM100. DDR1 rams are obsolete now especially the SO-DIMM type. |

QUOTE(alansnow @ Feb 7 2009, 05:06 PM) thats mean i can upgrade my ram? Why not you try to open up the cover at the back which hides the ram slots? You will know how many are there then. You can actually do it yourself. Visiting the garage sales forum, you will see a few threads selling the DDR400 rams. It is very easy.how many slots there? can i keep my current ram? where can i get i done? any shop in lowyat? thanks for the info ya, it was great... If you don't have confidence in doing it yourself, you can ask the computer shop to do it for you if you buy from them. Make sure you do a research on the pricing before taking the plunge. |

QUOTE(wolfiee @ Feb 22 2009, 05:29 PM) Dear all, I haven't heard of this brand before but I think it should work fine. If you're feeling uncomfortable, you can ask your seller to change the ram for you.Would like to get some comment from you all. Anybody heard of Zeppelin RAM (1G)? Is it reliable? (I never heard of Zeppeline RAM before) It was come with my Compaq laptop. I thought Compaq Laptop is come with Kingston RAM (or Hynix or Samsung or other brand name). And it is Compaq laptop come with Zeppelin RAM as standard? I did asked this question before (House of Notebook or HP Dealers), they told me, it will be come with Kingston RAM as standard? Am I been cheated? Bought the laptop last year (in Sept/08) Need help here.. |

You don't have to format your notebook to fully utilise the new ram. Just make sure you insert it when the power is off. It's unlike using the USB port.
You can go to the HP website and check the specification of the notebook. Then you will know what's the ram it used. The easy way is to download a software called "CPU-Z". It lets you knows what're inside your notebook. |

It can be upgraded to 4GB. However, if you use 32bit Operating System (X86), your OS can only fully utilise 3GB of the total rams.

QUOTE(QR_code @ Apr 14 2009, 01:08 AM) Mr.LKM, is my model supported 800 Mhz RAM oso? Can i install Ultimate with my current notebook spec? I don't think yours support DDR2-800MHz. You can certainly put it in. However, since your other rams are DDR2-667MHz as well, it will only run at 667MHz. Your motherboard doesn't support DDR2-800. Well.. you can use cpu-z to check if it can. I just give my opinion based on my speculation. Haha.. Core2Duo 1.8 2.5GB RAM Intel graphic card Well, you can install Ultimate but the "aero" will drag your performance since your graphic card is the bottleneck. |

QUOTE(QR_code @ Apr 14 2009, 01:23 AM) ppl oso told me the same where it;ll only run at 667Mhz if use together with 800 Mhz....i got cpu-z but though this program only tell what hardware installed....then how to tell if my notebook can support 800Mhz or not? Look at the motherboard model then google it for the specification. I think Home Premium is more than enough for normal user but it's up to you which version that you want. If I'm not mistaken, your laptop can use DDR2-800 but not support the speed which means that the speed of the ram will be running at a slower rate than stock.Which Vista version best suit my spec since failed to installed WinXP last time...thx! |
