This mean the Y480+gt650m bundle with win7+8GB is not and official Lenovo model. The free extra 4GB(1333mhz) will reduce its performance and not cover by Lenovo warranty lol.

Its better to get the official specs Y480+gt650m+freeDos & upgrade ourself.

Y480+gt650m freeDos version@2499 is the official specs from Lenovo Malaysia. There are some sellers bundle it with W7HP+extra 4GB(1333mhz)@2799 since its not provided by Lenovo Malaysia. I think they will provide the Y480+gt650m with W7HP later on.

Whats ur window boot up time? did u swap ur HDD with ODD?
can u post windows experience index & HWinfo for comparision. Thanks.

around~ 18 sec~i didnt open my hdd just add on 1 msata bsd ur wlan slot~ msata is around 575 RMB / RM290 (60gb)
after add-on ur 1 key recover will bcm useless~

My dual channel 4gb+4gb ddr3 1600 only give me 5.5 WEI, any reason for it not be reaching 7-7.5?

=.= u original come with 4gb? then u add on 4gb?
my 1 is 12 gb oh~ 4gb + 8gb crosair~ plus msata to be my primary disk~ thats why higher abit~

If u slot mSATA, thats mean, u got no WLAN la? (replace WLAN with mSATA) ?
or
IdeaPad Y480 has 1 more (extra) mini-PCIe slot ? (can be use for mSATA)

hello guys,mind to ask, do y480 gt650m have serious heat problem ... till need to remove optical drive??and how the temp without removing it and without external fan(min & max load) ?? or it just after OverClock the temp rises....such high i hope somebody with answers...and explainations,I am interested with this lappy with such great price in decent spec

Ya, why ur cpu throttle to 1200mhz?
Did u try to stop i7 turbo boost to reduce temp?

Y480+gt650m no serious heat problem as its using FULL copper heatsink for effective cooling. The HDD temp is a bit high under extreme stress, but its within the save limit.
If u gaming for long hour, suggest to get a cooler. u can refer to post#1 for user test on idle & load temp.
