 The New Ipad Camera Problem 1 Day Old

hi,just bought the new ipad on 16 June at Queensbay. when first try the camera,the shutter wont open at all,its freezing. reboot and hard reset doesnt solve it also.
it also freezing when running photobooth.
i take it to SWITCH yesterday.they restore still not fix the problem.they said its hardware problem.
they will replace with the new one but the stock is not available yet.
they said ive only 7 days to claim the new ipad from my purchased date.now i only have 5 days left to wait the stock coming.
if the stock still doesnt have,then i need to send it to waranty instead getting a new one.
at other SWITCH outlets got stock but they said they cant take the stock from them to replace mine.WTFFF...
im so frustrated with the service tho..
Imagine u just bought a new ipad and got problem already.
does someone has any problem with their new ipad?
and maybe know how to replace my new ipad asap? thanks guys

well....kind of in the same place with u...but not ipad...some other products....

wat i did was email and cc it to their hq customer service...and demand an explanation....

i tell them either give me an explanation or replace new unit...

i just called the Switch Sevice Center at queensbay,they said if i send it to them they just send it to warranty.they cant replace me with the new ipad box.
if my ipad is more than a week old,i still can accept to take it to warranty.
its only less than 1 hour old already problem,of course all of us expect to get the new one instead sending it to warranty.

I'm not sure if this might help but I guess at this point, anything legal is worth trying. I read about a forumer's experience of having his iPad changed on the basis of the 1-to-1 exchange claim. He mentioned that the supervisor or manager didn't want to honor that claim initially and suggested for his iPad to be sent in for warranty. What he claimed to have done is he called the Apple Support and gather enough evidence to support his case and then he passed the phone to the supervisor or the manager. He said he walked away with a new iPad in hand.

I'm not saying this will work in your case, considering the differences, but you can give it a try.

By the way, what a lousy customer service.

yes i can get 1 to 1 exchange within 7 days but now out of stock.they said if the stocks coming next week then i cant get 1 to 1 exchanged as already more than 7 days from my purchased date.
they also cant take from other switch outlets stock to replace mine.BAD SERVICE!

im more than happy if they can replace the new ipad without the 7 days limitation..the limited time to exchange makes me so pissed off..

Bro, u shud Have read throgh the post at lowyat before purchasing the iPad from switch. I was one of the unluckly one to purchase it from switch. Got scratches at the back of my iPad but not allow to exchange a new one. My case is even worst less than 1 min but also not allow to exchange.
So, have to go thru a lot of hassle like crazy guy calling here and there.
Teach u one technique confirm will work.....call their hq and talk to their boss. Ask him wanna change or dunwan...if no, then I will report to consumer.
Mayb his secretary will say that the boss is busy with meeting dis ar... Dat ar....tomolo reply u ok?
tell him dun Play with me....gif me a reply by today before office hour. If not I will file a report.
Wallau eah....less than 15 min, the secretary called back that u are allow one to one exchanged....
Shud Hf to dis extend if I noe my right as a consumer then I won't be wasting around one days call here n there.....

Ask for refund since dun Hf stock...it is their problem...if u go to consumer then u will be able to get refund Oso....
It is easy to complaint thru consumer....jz google for consumer then u can file the report thru online

i suggest you call apple directly immediately.
Let them know what ur issue and i feel they may let u one to one exchange instead of get refurbished set.

today i give a call to switch sunway carnival asking help to cut my sim card to micro... one of thier stuff say yes...
when i go there... one of the stuff say no..they cant do it....
i say i just call within 10 min and 1 of your staff say yes..now u say canot.. u just wasting my time travel...
end up i go SenQ and they help me bring to 1 of the telephone shop ask for cut...better service than stupid switch..

Also some of their workers know nuthin about what they have there on SWITCH.
at 16 june,i also went to switch to buy the new macbook pro at QB..
i already know that the new macbook pro already arrived at switch QB..
the first worker serve me,i ask them i want to buy the new macbook pro.
then he show me the 3399 one plus got voucher bla bla bla... i said im after the new macbook pro,not this one.then hes like blurr.. then i ask him to ask other staff to check.about 5 minutes he talkin with his friend and they said yeh theygot it LOL.
how come i know earlier than their staff? LOL

FYI, I have called up apple hotline more than five times. do u noe that apple hotline is covering south east asia and not specially for malaysia only. Thus, their helpful operator may not be familiar with the exchange policy in malaysia. Based on apple policy and their own country's consumer policy, apple product should have 14 days exchange 1 to 1 or refund if the customer is not satisfied with the purchased product. Ended up with the operator asking me back, malaysia dun hf consumer protection policy? if they dun allow to exchange, then we as the customer can alwiz seek for consumer's help...

Yup, it is true that the warranty will be void using the cut normal sim card because they claimed that the probability of the normal sim card being stuck in the slot is higher. So, they suggested us to use microsim card. if the micro simcard is stuck in the sim slot, the warranty is still valid.

Contact the supervisor or manager, if you have the contact, that is, and let them know that you mean business, about getting the 1-to-1 exchange honored, regardless of their lame excuse of no stock or inability to take stock from their counterparts and make sure to let them know that the ball is in their court on whether or not you approach the Consumer Rights.

If their plan of action is not up to your satisfaction, approach the Consumer Rights and let them know that the tech. had declared that it is a hardware issue and yet, lame excuses are being told to avoid the rightful 1-to-1 exchange.

It is an unnecessary hassle, no doubt, but it is about time these resellers learn that we, consumer, should not be taken lightly.

Lousy customer server + lousy quality control = disaster.

Bro, I strongly urge you to call Apple directly and file a complaint and request for 1-1 replacement as Apple does not tolerate this kind of thing with their reseller AFAIK.

Apple told me to wait within 7 days wether they will replace the new one or not as nuthin they can do until the 7 days period is over.
the Apple Online policy and the Switch policy is different.
at Apple Online,within 7 days if ipad got problem.they will replace the new one.
at Switch,within 7 days according to available stock only.if no stock,send to warranty.
i advice before you guys buy apple products from switch or any place pls do check the unit first and ask if the unit problem can replace,refund or not etc.
when come to this situation, its like useless.
call here call there wasting money,wasting time.. huhu...

With such warranty policy applies to Switch, I felt so unsecure when we making our purchases from them. What if they just avoiding the hassle of replacing a defective out of the box product and simply tell us it's out of stock till the replacement warranty period over? If next time I going to purchase and Apple product, I will definately "Switch" to another Apple Respective Reseller.

you can buy from them.example if u want to buy an ipad.
make sure u ask them wether they have extra stock or not for immediate replacement if got any problem with the unit.
but usually we found the problems at home instead at switch.. huhu..
im just not a lucky guy get the problem unit.

WOW!!!! Luckily I didn't buy from QB Switch. Didn't know the service is so bad. The excuse of 'NO STOCK' is unacceptable. We will not know if they have stock or not, so like u mention before....ask if they have stock on hand first then only u buy. This way they can't prevent u from exchange 1:1 if something happen to ur Ipad. Better buy from Seng Heng smile.gif

This is rather disappointing.

With different policy implemented from that of Apple’s, no one should subject themselves to such double standard practice. It is utter useless to enquire their staff or even supervisor if there is available stock as they might play the whole ‘this-person-is-new-and-gave-wrong-info’ game even if the respective staff told you of available stock few seconds ago. From that point on, it will be your words against theirs and frankly speaking, they have the higher ground, even if you decide to make a scene there and then.

Avoid Switch. Period.

Apple online store policy .... if i'm not wrong is 14 days 1 to 1 exchange if hw problem had been identify .... for reseller like Machines , MacCity , Switch or iStudio , i dun think they have such "1 to 1" replacement policy ,i still can remember my friends bought iPad 2 that is having light leakage issue after he open the box from machines .... still they refer my fren to service center for warranty claim !!!!

after this incident ..... i will prefer to buy from apple online store if is not in the rush and plus they got free engraving ... happy.gif

This is ridiculous! TS, they r f**king u over.

Ur iPad was faulty since day 1 thus the complaint was lodged then and as it is within the 7 days exchange policy, they MUST honor the policy. Not having stock is their fault and they should just hold ur unit until the stock comes n exchange it for another. What nonsense explanation is that about stock comes before 7 days, u will get exchange.

TS, what model did u buy? Tell me n I will call QB Branch n see if they hv stock. If they say yes, go slap them.

i agree with alvin114,i prefer to buy from online store in the future.
i still remember the Apple guy said they will arrange a courier to pick up our problem ipad at our home..thats nice.. we dont need to go anywhere,just give them a call.Great Service.

sometime i wonder,why so hard RESELLER to give us 1-1 exchange.its an APPLE product and its also EXPENSIVE...
if APPLE online can,why they cant. its also APPLE ma.. not APPLE PiE lol...

Do u know, Apple Online has heaps of advantages. Just to name a few. Bear in mind, some r on case to case basis but at least they still try to accommodate for us buyers:

- if ur shipping is delayed for a few days even though by customs, a call to apple about it may cause them to issue a rm100 cash rebate. I got that once. Love them for their professionalism
- 14 day one to one exchange
- u r allowed to do one to one for a limit of 2 times
- if after ur 1 to 1, if u r still unhappy, they will offer u a full cash refund.
- items like iPad have free engraving
- proper tax invoice (retailers give u nonsense receipts that r faded or will fade with time)
- delivery to ur doorstep FOC and item is delivered in the brown box n fully super sealed.

Apple Online FTW man. IMHO.

if u bought from the apple online store then u call them for any hardware problem they will help u to exchange
but this no work if u bought at authorised reseller cause they normally asked u go back the place u bought and negotiate with them.
so for those who want buy the apple product kindly buy directly from apple or if u really want buy it at reseller,please do the research and asked the seller whether has DOA service

and why apple can offer exchange or refund but reseller cant?
from what i know is reseller product is get from supplier mean normally not directly get the stocks from apple
and different reseller may has different suppliers,therefore normally they won't exchange to the customers and asked us go to claim warranty
if exchange for us,they will less sell a goods and it is trouble to sent the problem goods go back.
Asked us claim warranty and they will avoid the trouble and make more profit.

My friend bought the new ipad, check on spot on the newly unboxed set and found a dent on the top corner.

Machine give him a 1 on 1 replacement on the spot and reissue a new receipt for him. The manager tell him, if still got problem within 14 days, they will still do 1 to 1 replacement.
