Go back to the page when OSX Mountain Lion comes out. I faced the same thing too.

I'm using MBP 15' 2010 prior to this.
The very visible difference is the display. After 5 minutes on my RMBP, everything on my old MBP looked blur. Very blur in fact. I can't believe my eyes.
Speakers are upgraded too. The experience is VERY awesome now. If you been listening songs with the old MBP, you will notice a HUGE difference in terms of sound quality.
Reduced thickness and reduced weight are the noticeable difference when you hold it.
I do agree on stringfellow's comment on the upgrade of MBP. With this spec, I don't see myself changing laptop in the next two - three years. Why worry about the RAM? I seen most of the comments are concerning the RAM. As far as I know, 8GB is good enough for some intensive programs.
I can run iMovie, Aperture, and iBook Author all at the same time without any slow down.
The iBook I'm doing is around 1GB.
If you are really worry about the RAM, get 16GB directly. You might complain it is expensive right now. But you will appreciate when you need it in the future (2-3 years down the road).
