so you mean the apps still need to install 3rd party task manager to kill it manually like n8 did?

QUOTE(Agito666 @ Jul 22 2012, 03:11 AM) So as of current, the more obvious one is, they're using 808 as to promote PureView technology, start the poison, etc.So, when Lumia PureView launch, people will go buy it and those never experience 808 PureView will not know the difference (because they're waiting for Lumia version and keep hearing how great the 808 PureView, in their mind, they thought Lumia PureView will be as good or better). Now, from all his strategy, I find weird, stoopid and killing the company, but this strategy is one that's actually smart. But then, it might actually be beneficial for Microsoft, so, something might happen later? I hope it doesn't become something that's not unique for Nokia anymore... |

QUOTE(xaiemanx @ Jul 23 2012, 01:24 AM) coming from buttery smooth ios and ics, i think belle fp1 is smooth and snappy, something i didnt expect from the dark days of using king of lags, n97! The only lag comes from webkit rendered apps like The Web, The Social and the Nokia Store, which boh pian coz its software related. Thankfully they are not my primary apps. Otherwise every other apps and UI is very snappy. I know this sounds silly but im glad it doesn' comes with 4 cores processor that will definitely kills the battery life, an overkill, while yielding minimal speed increase. Take for example the silky smooth gravity app, i cant imagine how it can get more snappy than it is now. |

QUOTE(Agito666 @ Jul 23 2012, 09:30 AM) Not sure what experience you have with the demo set, I never restart my 808 (unless it hangs, happens when I using the camera, seems like a known bug which should be fixed in newer firmware). The camera is fast and activates very fast too, N8 cannot compare. The focusing speed is way much faster than N8. Overall, it's better than N8 in everyway? But then I only use it as a second phone, mainly the camera, it's fast and activates easily even if the phone is in sleep mode. I think you can challenge WP to a contest, take a photo (activate phone from sleep mode) and share it to facebook, you'll easily smoke it. |

Take for example the silky smooth gravity app, i cant imagine how it can get more snappy than it is now. The question is how smooth does people want it to be? For me, it's not important to have SUPER CRAZY SMOOTH and FAST, but as long as it's acceptable smoothness, performance and stability, it's good enough already. Does everyone need a Fallali?Speed & Smoothness is not everything; what's the point if you get speed and smoothness, but the manufacturer removes features and functions? I think that's plain stewpid. They should give everything not give you this and that away that. It's plain treating customers/users as dumb customers/users, MORE SO when the keep promoting the speed and smoothness or how fast you can do a process is less 1 step. LoL, so you do faster 1 step, you get orgasm? LOL. It's nice when it's faster and smoother, but not when the OS looses functionality/features and becomes more restricted. To me, that's plain stewpid. The customers/users should wake up and realize this, so the manufacturer's won't treat the customers/users as fool by doing all these "dirty" tricks. |

QUOTE(Andy214 @ Jul 23 2012, 10:17 AM) So as of current, the more obvious one is, they're using 808 as to promote PureView technology, start the poison, etc. as revealed, the first lumia pureview will probably be less than 41mp but the following version will be similar spec or better. For me, i like to get a wp pureview in future but i know ill greatly miss features like having huge sd card of all my files on the go, fm transmitter, true geek file manager, forever can be replace battery like my n82, ringtones from my mp3, etc.So, when Lumia PureView launch, people will go buy it and those never experience 808 PureView will not know the difference (because they're waiting for Lumia version and keep hearing how great the 808 PureView, in their mind, they thought Lumia PureView will be as good or better). QUOTE(Agito666 @ Jul 23 2012, 10:26 AM) my experience is not complete one lol. the sunway nokia store lighting sucks. Nokia Store Sunway lighting ok wo? I wanna test low light but there too bright cannot test high ISO in low light. When you push high ISO with adequate lighting, you won't really see much noise, when you go to low light area (e.g. room with florescent light), then you'll see the lighting is bad and the high ISO noise will be worst due to more dark areas.i wan a real 808 that can move freely to try shoot one wan test the browser also cannot because no internet connection on that 808 demo wtf. wan try GPS also cannot. ---- tried the close up shot from the price tag description those small text nearby with 808, colour seems not so rich compare to my (vivid + max contrast) n8, oh well i need to put in computer to see first. but overall is fast enough... I test at Nokia Store Sunway, can't really test the ISO, I even compare with the Note, Note produce more contrasty image (plus the screen makes the photo looks nicer). When I test at home, then can really see the high ISO suffer from noise due to low light, but for a phone camera, it's very good already. For daytime outdoor, needless to say, it performs like a charm, the details, the natural color, etc. For the browser, I don't really use Symbian to browse, =P But if I do, I'll be using the Opera browser. GPS is very good, but I use with data. It's not a mobile computer OS, but more like a media player OS. Just like how iOS is like a iPod media OS, and WP as a Zune media Player OS.Of course, this is not concern to many people, as most people only concern with apps apps apps and games games games, and of course, "so smooth". WP8 supposedly will have external storage support, and I hope they'll come out with a proper and TRUE smartphone OS this time. I'm just so disappointed with WP7, I was expecting something really good, especially when they comes up with the plan about empahsizing on social networking services. The social networking services is very well done indeed, that's one of the best feature for WP. For the Lumia PureView, whether it can support up to 41MP is a question. 808 PureView is using dedicated processor for the imaging and video. For Windows Phone, there's many restrictions on the hardware, first they will need to settle this. Next, WP has several limitations and restrictions, such as how they control your files; As current WP7, you need to transfer files through Zune. Imagine the inconvenience when you need to transfer files to your friend's PC or office PC or anywhere else which have no Zune installed? Not allowed to send file via bluetooth.............. So how to send? Email or SkyDrive or some sharing sites. You might also want to check out (or worry) when using some built-in or provided features to upload files, as usually it will compress the file before uploading... If so, what's the point of getting a PureView. This post has been edited by Andy214: Jul 23 2012, 10:44 AM |

(even for Flickr).joking, i need a PC to compare the picture, that is more accurate instead viewing it in phone and the built in share to FB camera apps, that one got compress like shait like n8 did? 808 still dont have panorama apps right? yesterday play the camera apps, i kinda confused with the setting. Some might ask, about FB quality , why want to upload high res? Well, before this, FB have no high quality option when you upload and back then it's even worst, but later they upgrade. So, if you phone-built-in plugin by default already compress to low quality, then even FB upgraded, you'll still be uploading low quality images, until they release s an update for it. The thing here is, to give user choices and options, and not treating user as dummy. We paid for it, we do not pay to be control and be restricted. Not sure about Panorama app, the last I check I think I didn't see any. There's many apps not available in FP1, NFS Shift also not there, and several other apps and games I used to install on N8. Browsing the Nokia Store on 808 is really very limited and little apps, while in actual, Symbian have tons of apps and games. This post has been edited by Andy214: Jul 23 2012, 11:12 AM |
