Red eye reduction does not seem to be working well , anyone seeing this issue too ?

sure la...its like nokia treats its users like they're 5yr olds.
everytime must remind that data not available when trying to use apps that need to go online.

at least whatsapp on symbian looks better than android...but symbian one takes longer to connect.

I need to re-install the Silent Film Director which was pre-installed in 808 but removed after hardreset but in Nokia Store, there is a message "Sorry, this item is not available for the Nokia 808 Pureview" and download button doesnt work.

I am confused. If it was pre-installed, I assume it should works for 808 but cannot download it. Where can I get the apps?

symbian is dead. Unless they fire elop n the whole board of directors. If you check out the various nokia facebook pages feedbacks around the world, youll see that 808 is the real 'Hero' device, not Lumia 900. Lumia just don't have the traction to gain any market share even with the kabbilion $$$ poured into marketing. It is pathetically below even the dead webOS. By abandoning symbian, Nokia has killed the goose that laid their only golden egg. The huge mobile market is big enough to have another ecosystem after ios and android but nokia didnt see it that way and pakai hentam saje using Windows Phone to compete with the top 2, sacrificing symbian in the process. Whenever there is a popular trend (ios & android), there will always be counter-trend market, people who are sick of popular devices and want something less common, and symbian/meego is perfect for that. Eventhough i think Blackberry CEO is a bit blur and delusional but i applaud them of building something of their own with BB10 eventhough is super late.

Anywayyyy, you are asking about the case? I saw at Digital Mall Endless Concept 2 days ago got couple of black and red cases selling at a cut throat price at rm136, no white. Cash can discount to rm100. Got mine for only rm63, imagine how much they markup, siao...

I do agree with you.. I see why they drop off Symbian I don't see why the need of dropping off MeeGo..

Some question to ponder:
1. Why Nokia must stop MeeGo and Symbian? Why can't they use MeeGo, Symbian AND Windows Phone?
It seems some agreement with MS forces Nokia to kill Symbian and abort the premature MeeGo. If you notice, Samseng, HTC also have Windows Phone... but it's not doing well and Samseng and HTC is focusing on Android.
So, if you're MS, how would you ensure your partner push your OS? Especially when Windows Phone is dying and struggling to survive... they need someone big to STEP on and climb OVER
This is GOOD NEWS for Microsoft, they just kill off two of their major competitor, Symbian and MeeGo. This deal is all beneficial to Microsoft.
2. Why Nokia cannot use Android or go multi-platform?
3. Why Nokia need to announce they will kill off Symbian 1 year BEFORE they even have Windows Phone to sell? Because they announce this, they start to loose MANY of their customers...
Are they SO CONFIDENT all the Symbian owners can switch to the inferrior Windows Phone? To many Symbian owners, sorry to say, it's a downgrade because Windows Phone is more restrictive and it doesn't work like a TRUE smartphone, it's like a MEDIA Phone.
Thanks to this SMART move, Nokia start to LOOSE BIG on their customers, and where did these customers go? Well, did you notice Samseng suddenly become SO SUCCESSFUL, so rapidly, so EASILY? They also became World No. 1, but how? Where did they get SUCH LARGE base of Customers?
4. Why Nokia killing off their own OS and go for something they have no control, more restrictive and become single platform? Android has much more flexibility, but they chose Windows Phone?
What's more, now Nokia Maps is BUILT-IN Windows Phone 8.
What happen to Nokia? What is UNIQUE for Nokia then?
Will the Nokia Maps in Windows Phone 8 be called Microsoft Maps later?
If Nokia is selling Windows Phone 8, why would people buy a Nokia WIndows Phone, when there is Samseng's Windows Phone, which the brand is now MORE popular and possibly MORE interesting to many people.
What's left unique for Nokia? How will FUTURE generations remember Nokia? Is it a Nokia phone or Microsoft Phone? Nokia name will slowly fade away as they have nothing unique anymore as you can see, they're slowly being eaten up by Microsoft.

All I can say is, the deal with Microsoft, has bring NO benefit for Nokia, all I can see is damages and it's killing Nokia everyday and at fast rate.
Look at Lumia 900, just not long after it launch, Microsoft has to announce that Windows Phone 8 is not supporter to current Windows Phone 7. It's indrectly KILLING NOKIA harder, stabbing deeper. It shows how much they don't bother or care about Nokia; Perhaps it's also their plan to bring down the giant and maybe when the giant is vulnerable and value drop to very low, it's time to devour it?
It's just very sad to see what's happening to Nokia. They were once so good and have so many great things.
Whatever happen to CONNECTING people? The deal with Microsoft, is DISCONNECTING people.
Whatever happen to "It's not technology, it's what you do with it"? The deal with Microsoft, it's let Microsoft DO Nokia.


In terms of smartphone OS, Maemo/MeeGo are still the best. But not everyone needs/wants a smartphone OS, most people just want APPS APPS APPS and GAMES GAMES GAMES.

Normal price is RM79, remember looking at the case when I went to order. Red is like tomato kan? So, actual discount 20%. It's selling at Nokia dealers, those who sell the 808 will have.

Windows Phone wanna be successful is very SIMPLE.
But I have no idea who in charge of Windows Phone, why they make it so restrictive, control this and that, so many limitations... It's totally so NOT Microsoft. They're like copying Apple, it's like a blind management, see iPhone very successful, let's COPY it, and they copy the good and bad instead of take the good and drop the bad.

Many Windows Phone user got annoyed and pissed off with the restrictions and limitations. Why they need to restrict? It's a smartphone or is it a media phone? Microsoft has never done such this for their product before. This is like completely different from Microsoft... not to mentioned some development design flaws on the Contacts, 1 Live Account only can have 1 Mobile Number, LoL, it's like the dabatase is designed by someone without much database design knowledge. Just so NOT Microsoft, reminds me of Foxxy Conn.
The best part yet, Windows Phone is about "putting people first", but I don't see any. It's neglecting what people wants, making people life harder and inconvenient... to send one photo to another device, you need to upload to SkyDrive or send to Email and then ask the person to download it? How stewpid is that?

It's such a blessing that the 808 does not run on Windows Phone!
Many people who rant before just want Windows Phone because it's a newer OS, without understanding which is a better choice and which is actually better.

Andy, as always, long essays,lol. Microsoft, well, they are like the govern slogan 'Rakyat didahulukan...', depends whay they want to dahulukan, test devices(L710,800,900) or customer needs. Microsodt certainly dahulukan their PC software business, handphone business, side thing only.
