I can see that you're persuading people to get the same laptop as you, which is what I'm doing too  blush.gif
btw can you confirm if the HDD is 5400rpm or 7200 rpm?
even alienware laptop isn't using 7200rpm hdd, and I can't find any laptop 1tb hdd 7200rpm over google doh.gif

lol I didn't check it. Now on shift. Will check it at the morning.

If got higher budget, I recommend G55VW.

Y580 save couple bucks for me. For those like to play halo, BF3, etc high graphic rendering game, G55VW is the best or G75.

I just play Dota & diablo now. Movie I go IMAX.

I have no idea why ppl struggling on FHD and HD screen. Really can enjoy a movie in 15.6" screen.

Try 22, maybe 24"......will feel 15.6" so small. Like back to the CRT monitor. I used 17" one last time~

The dell 15r se with FHD+ a 3 year warranty+backlit keyboard RM3221 with 9%rebate +RM200 rebate

lenovo y580 RM3399,with 2 year warranty (thinking extand to 3 year warranty if suit my budget)

3399-3221=RM179

The difference leh,() winner
1.more power gpu ,radeon 7730 hd vs GTX 660 (y580)

2.sharper screen (15r)

3.1TB HDD 7200  (y580)

4.Blu-ray drive  hmm.gif  (y580)
More difference is welcome if here have something missing~ brows.gif

Conclusion me hard decide to buy which one~ cry.gif Super Max Budget RM3500(At 1st my budget start 2.5k) rclxub.gif ,previously asked the buying laptop thread here end up choosing 15r se FHD ,but now this beast is coming make me itchy FXXK!!!! doh.gif

u budget get n55sl lor.. but also out of stock.. lulz

agree too... but if y580's cooler is good enuf can liao... but if too hot, g55vw?

can ask noob question er.. can we customize g55vw's hdd? to 750gb 7200rpm? i think that's the only weakness...

For me , a killer y580 spec would be 1600x900 screen, DVD drive(who the heck uses blu ray??) FreeDOS, and i5 rather than i7 brows.gif
Most prolly can sell for 2899, or lower brows.gif

but too bad they don't have 1680*1050 or 1600*900, I'm using a 24" FHD desktop currently, 17" laptop too large, and I don't want to use external display doh.gif

Maybe on convertin video, editing photo, then we can feel the difference. For normal usage like Dota, download pon, pps, msn, FB, i5 & i7 is the same.

the i7-3612qm and i5-3210m has similar performance in a single threaded program, and has double performance under multi threaded program.
remember to test if the hdd is 5400/7200 rpm, I doubt it's typo yawn.gif
FHD on 15" should be enough (the new 15" macbook pro with retina display uses 2880*1400) or something similar.

Powerful = money

No la, laptop can travel around mah. Lighter laptop screen too small and movie graphic not nice.

Sometimes can bring it to fren's house Dota together. Or parking at Starbucks or McDonald looking hot chicks lol

probably can... gtx660m benchmark review mentioned that battlefield 3 on high setting got like 40 fps.... so i guess combined with i7-3610qm and 8gb ddr3, y580 can run it
