The dell 15r se with FHD+ a 3 year warranty+backlit keyboard RM3221 with 9%rebate +RM200 rebate

lenovo y580 RM3399,with 2 year warranty (thinking extand to 3 year warranty if suit my budget)

3399-3221=RM179

The difference leh,() winner
1.more power gpu ,radeon 7730 hd vs GTX 660 (y580)

2.sharper screen (15r)

3.1TB HDD 7200  (y580)

4.Blu-ray drive  hmm.gif  (y580)
More difference is welcome if here have something missing~ brows.gif

Conclusion me hard decide to buy which one~ cry.gif Super Max Budget RM3500(At 1st my budget start 2.5k) rclxub.gif ,previously asked the buying laptop thread here end up choosing 15r se FHD ,but now this beast is coming make me itchy FXXK!!!! doh.gif

i'm not sure if 1tb 7200rpm HDD exists, or is it a typo. I can't see any high end laptop using it either.
blue-ray drive, it depends on if you need to use it
the lenovo has a more powerful CPU( althought they differ a little bit only) and GPU
the dell has 32gb msata SSD also, which will be used as caching drive.
more information here: http://www.anandtech.com/show/4329/intel-z...aching-review/2

it depends on your preference after all, if you will game a lot in the future, then consider getting lenovo

you can wait and see if lenovo release y580 with FREEDOS and install ahem version of windows :\

what kind of games do you play btw?

Agree! Hahaha who the heck use BR on laptop?! For 15.6" screen, resolution 1680 x 1050 will be perfect. What the hell only 1366 x 768...

i7 better... Feel geng a bit LOL
*
but too bad they don't have 1680*1050 or 1600*900, I'm using a 24" FHD desktop currently, 17" laptop too large, and I don't want to use external display doh.gif

Maybe on convertin video, editing photo, then we can feel the difference. For normal usage like Dota, download pon, pps, msn, FB, i5 & i7 is the same.

I think I can try 24" FHD LOL
*
the i7-3612qm and i5-3210m has similar performance in a single threaded program, and has double performance under multi threaded program.
remember to test if the hdd is 5400/7200 rpm, I doubt it's typo yawn.gif
FHD on 15" should be enough (the new 15" macbook pro with retina display uses 2880*1400) or something similar.

try doing benchmark, the performance might be the same or even better, maybe it's gpuz's error.,

I knew it's a typo, you can't find 7200rpm 1tb 2.5" hdd in any other place =.=
deepcool, did you buy it because of the 7200rpm ?if you did, go to complaint biggrin.gif

The post which blames hdd itself for high temperature is pointless, I have 1TB hdd which only runs on 42C++, and it's the same model yawn.gif

I'm not talking about the period, can't you notice the temperature cruve is a little bit zigzag type?

Added on July 1, 2012, 3:11 amand idle temperature seems to be around 60C fo CPU, please try again when you're free and let the cpu rest few minutes before doing any test.

zig zag line is normal. How to maintain temperature at straight line???

Stress CPU, GPU & HDD for 45 minutes...Lazy to wait till 1 hour.

Anyone have other brand Stress Test result?

CPU temperature maintain btw 82-92. Most of the time on 88-89. I recorded a video, the upload speed so slow...

After 10 mins, HDD back to 54.
*
zigzag line means the processor is being throttled for some second, resulting it to be cooler and hence the lower temperature reading, and when the temperature is low enough, throttling is disabled, and temp goes up and again and again.
