QUOTE(ahaks75 @ Jun 15 2012, 09:46 AM) Good morning... morning bro...how is ur FC?is it become better/good? next Monday will go for my 5K service. Yesterday, I went to see the new Camry. Surprise to know that Camry use half soft touch and half hard plastic for dashboard and all doors. I thought Camry will come with full soft touch like Mercedes. btw, the most fun part of driving Preve is playing with the paddle shifter even in D mode. Normally when stopping at traffic light, I will downshift to gear 1 and when the light turn green, slam the gas paddle and the car will fly nicely. |

Good Morning Previans,
I was enjoy driving my Preve after it discharged from service centre last friday after fixed the Fuel Consumption issue RM 0.30 per KM. Over the week, i have drive on (Non Traffic Jam road with many road bump & traffic, Up hills to Genting Highlands, mon-thurs traffic jam to my office), the average fuel consumption is about 11.5L/100KM which is about RM0.21- RM0.22 perkm. I have refill another fuel tank last night, the ODO meter show total estimate 533KM to drive for this full tank refill. What i noticed, the car utilized a lot of petrol in the heavy traffic jam. This morning when i drive from my home Kepong to Jalan Raja Chulan via Jalan Ipoh and Jalan Tun Razak, the overall average fuel consumption has reached 13.7L/100KM to my office. While i reached at the most traffic jam area (Jalan Ipoh to Jalan Tun Razak) today, the car average fuel consumption can stood up to 16L/100KM (Non moving traffic). The traffic was smooth after passed Jalan Ipoh, the average fuel consumption slowly drop from 16L/100KM until 13.7L/100Km reached to my office. |

QUOTE(maverickng @ Jun 15 2012, 09:54 AM) my FC is okay and getting better. currently is around 8.5L/100KM to 9.5L/100KM for mix driving (bias to city driving). Hoping it will get better over time.QUOTE(Junn @ Jun 15 2012, 09:56 AM) Except for that part. Camry the front door and back door are same (half soft and half hard). Preve, the back door is full hard plastic.Altis is also using half soft touch and half hard plastic (for dashboard and all doors). Vios is using 100% hard plastic.... |

QUOTE(Dark Adam @ Jun 15 2012, 10:01 AM) that y some say preve level is almost as camry.. but just becoz its 1.6 and with tiger logo some more is cheaper than vios type j, so some stupid malaysian though is cheap unreliable car .. Preve is NOT almost as Camry level seriously speaking, fitting and plastic quality wise, lose to Altis. Even the engine is not as refined as altis, i can say it is better than Vios, probably 1 small step below Altis. THe plastic they use is just too thin, which made them squeaky and easily bend, felt like very low quality, especially on the dash and the door, where u press it the whole plastic will bend, not soft-touch where it will sink in, it will sink in and the plastic will bend in together, tis is becos plastic is too thin. U can touch Altis plastic and it is very firm, hard and solid. The next thing is the CVT engine, the sluggish pickup of the car, made my dad so disappointed in the car, he said CVT sound when u lift pedal fiuuuu tat sound is like his 20yrs ago mitsubushi rear wheel drive lancer, which that will caused big problem to the gearbox later on, which he say they need some special gearbox fluid to minimize the sound. For me, i dont have much issue becos i can live with the CVT sound, but for them, they say if CVT got such sound, then it seems like a failure, why normal GB, even wira 15yrs old also no such sound, but new Preve got. So he owes go proton SC complain, the C-pillar sound the SC tell me is what road tyre noise, i was like WTF. if i off the radio, i heard wind noise coming from front, if i open radio then it is covered by the radio sound. I dont know whether other car got tis problem or not, but i told them rubber problem they din say anything, maybe next time when my disc brake rotor come i will fucuk them for sure. Did anyone got their C-pillar or any rubber changed? |

I wouldn't go so far to compare it with Camry, satN drove few, very comfortable, fit n finish is very Toyota. |

QUOTE(my1508 @ Jun 15 2012, 09:13 AM) QUOTE(GoldenHawk @ Jun 15 2012, 09:23 AM) I have an idling issue that caused the car to stall when I'm just about to move and the A/C disengages. Apparently, then the A/C disengages, the idling goes up & down erratically. This + the low revs when launching caused my car to stall, several times i already ask the SC about the door and they say it's normal...I drive a manual by the way. Anyway, guys, I need a favour from everyone. I went to the service center yesterday complaining that when I wind the driver's side window all the way up, the door trim seems to move out a little, like something pushing from the inside the door trim. The SC said ALL Preve's have this issue. Do you guys have a similar issue? Added on June 15, 2012, 9:26 amS**t! My SC also didn't tell me the alignment free before 1000KM! btw, u still can get the alignment and balancing for free after reaching 1000 km.. yesterday I go to COE for 1k service, my odo already 12xx km and they do the alignment even I'm not asking them to do it... |

QUOTE(DryCell @ Jun 15 2012, 08:55 AM) Sad to hear that your a/c not working bro. First of all, when you drive back home, did the temperature increase? Or no? If yes it could be one of the relay burn. maybe it's just the aircond gas empty.. a friend of mine experienced this a few years back with the new savvy.. seems that they did not filled in the aircond gas at the factory.. he sent to SC and get it refilled.. the only problem is the SC guy that handled the aircon issue was not static there, he was on a pool basis with several SC..You told us that the compressor isn't running, that too could be relay problem. You can just simply go any nearest SC and they'll rectify and solve the problem. A/C Compressor doesn't normally spoilt for new car, i suspect could be the relay. Get it check and update us the result bro. Thanks. |

QUOTE(Junn @ Jun 15 2012, 10:20 AM) I wouldn't go so far to compare it with Camry, sat Camry is a different class than Preve. To compare altis and preve would be better. Vios can be compared with Saga FL, FLX.N drove few, very comfortable, fit n finish is very Toyota. Of course, Preve could improve the fit and finish. I am not complaining about the plastic just that in certain parts it it quite flimsy. For cvt, not much complain there, the car was bought for ride and handling. I can only afford Preve and buy Preve. If you can afford camry, buy camry. You pay what you get. Just my 2 cents |
