Actually yes, I do. I do that at speeds below 70 though. Above that I won't see a fast reduction in speed. You should try it .

Although sometimes I do it for fun but the engine braking is too little. Try experiencing a manual's then you'll know what i mean by little.

Since i am at a rock bottom, i do take things slowly..like my driving style, current tank of RM50 rom95, i got 305km(blinking) of mileage 80% city driving...tomorrow i start back naik motor..ahahah..rm5 = 120km/combine..

I did experience engine braking with manuals before, but on a Kancil when I was trying to get my driving license . Currently with the Persona it does reduce enough speed for me to just use the brakes for a bit before being slow enough to get pass speed bumps without leaving my tyres behind. 4th gear to 3rd is not that powerful indeed, but once I'm at speeds safe enough to downshift to 2 the engine braking power really starts to show.
