its a camry 2.0 o.O
dun b dissapointed

i cant outrun a wira also...

if 2.4 i think kena smoked. haha~~
2.0 acceleration doesnt seems that good for camry.
but then of coz, our persona cant outrun them.
exception may be for some of our members here. haha~~
like zeng, xandras, and sam car should be ok with a 2.0 camry.
QUOTE(Nashraf @ Jul 25 2012, 12:37 PM)
I got outrun by a waja cps on duke just now..also dissapointed haha
waja is powerful without denied.

Juz nw lunch wit my colleague, when i mentioned i speed to 190kmh b4 tis,she direct ask me,ur car stable meh?he said his bfren vios need add bar, modify spring and absorber juz can stable when 180kmh..then how come pe can stable even stock?i direct keep quiet lo
just tell him our car have bar, have absorber and weight that is originally good enuf. hahaha~~
QUOTE(voscar @ Jul 25 2012, 03:02 PM)
really that terrible? another friend sit his dugong, seeing him driving 180-190....

is not how high speed top speed you can reach. is how stable it is at that speed. a wira can reach that speed too if it is properly maintained.
QUOTE(Fubar20 @ Jul 25 2012, 02:57 PM)
Pickup fast but handling like shit. Sit at the back one time in normal speed also like body moving already.
agree. but actually the time taken to reach 180km/h is almost the same.
i run with my friend trd vios which i think the bodykit heavier make it slower accelerating from 0-180km/h we are no difference actually. but he is much faster at 0-100.
QUOTE(voscar @ Jul 25 2012, 02:52 PM)
but dugong's pickup is super fast. few days ago came out with a friend, he drive dugong, inside car park already accelerate, crazy and dangerous. i reach exit junction his car already gone. we didn't purposely race each other, but it seems dugong driver mostly drive like that.
got once i purposely wanna try catchup with him, bypass traffic light using some shortcut (legal method), ended up reach sametime with him. He was shocked, didn't saw my car all the while suddenly park beside him.

if you say inside car park of coz lah. it need titanium balls mah. and the lower end of vios is good mah.
QUOTE(Cavino @ Jul 25 2012, 03:21 PM)
Yes, its that terrible. Vios and City never mention handling as its one of its primary features. I owned 2 City 2006 VTEC, 1 lightly modded with airmaster bk that weight the car down, 4 pt heavy UR front strut and 1 default rear crossbar strut. Can go 180km/h without issue but car a bit floaty liao, still grounded. The other stock city can reach 180km/h faster coz lighter but darn floaty. Dugong with almost similar with with City BUT HAS EVEN WORSE HANDLING and BODYROLL due to its much softer suspension (City VTEC had a shorter, sportier and harder suspension for added handling but less comfortable than VIOS). So can imagine how VIOS handles at high speed, slight bump, we will have a third rate air asia flight on the the road. Same with those tin can myvi at high speed.
PE due to its design and weight are actually a good highway high speed car, very grounded and stable....hit to 130km/h easily without noticing it....except for the engine noise. My fav 2006 modded city could not match its comfort and stability....except for the incredible vtec+cvt torque.....still trump PE from torque climbing aspect....even at 180km/h don't feel out of breath but for the stability....I have to slow down....my insurance still not enuf for my kids...my wife warn...
Added on July 25, 2012, 3:24 pmIf you compare with Saga, its not cramp BUT it IS NOT very comfortable due to the straighter seat. I'm not sure why but somehow the H-Line rear seat seems more comfortable than the M-B Line, maybe the seating materials, ie, leather makes a difference?
Long distance passenger seating behind used to other cars sure complain wan...so PE is essentially either a long distance 2 seater car or a short distance 4 seater cars, IMO.
another reason should be because of the tyre size and suspension setup. just need a spend of RM2k for soundproofing and it will be perfect. hahaha~~
my non elegance persona rear sit comfort is no better than the saga fl at my house.
QUOTE(nicgoh @ Jul 25 2012, 03:16 PM)
my mum lo.. when she sit at the rear seat.. straight away she complain cramp..
then she sit into preve and she just love preve
but preve QC problem very kaolat lo..

preve rear seat is better. thats why.
QUOTE(ZenGTMM @ Jul 25 2012, 04:52 PM)
Ur 17" rims do u know how farlking heavy are those?
tell her to sit in ur car and let u speed till 190kmh.. then ask her is it the same or different compared to Vios.. After that only shoot vios.. haha.. Keep quiet makes u sound like u are lying and u got caught in the act.
one thing there is a misconception.. Even if Vios handles lousily. It still can go around corners. It still can accelerate hard due to combination of good low end torque and lightweight.. which can consider double advantage over PE. and since in car park, the speed of travel is low.. most most around 60kmh only. it might look like fast going round corners but its due to psychology due to the place being in a enclosed environment with a lot of stationary cars around. When i drove the Vios.. It felt so light and nimble and revvy.. Eventhough its not good at the high end. 90% of the time a Vios engine will beat a PE engine in utility usefulness..
Ya pahang driver all driving as though they have a long life and they will to spend time on the road.
lousy handling doesnt mean that it cannot corner. thats fact. but i really cannot brain my friend that own the trd vios and mazda 6 says that he prefer cornering with vios. he says it corner better.
QUOTE(dares @ Jul 25 2012, 05:44 PM)
Yep, same goes for myvi. Their throttle response is way better than campro's shitty DBW, low speed acceleration the dugong pwns any 1.6 campro, including the Saga FLX SE. Trying chasing one in a carpark, you will see how clumsy our throttle response is.
This make the dugong and the sampan great city cars, even if it has sucky handling at high speed.
i wonder what engine is used in alza. i dont like the response in it. but they say is toyota engine.
saga flx se attracts me actually. if our persona got how nice.
can adapt yourself to the throttle response by practicing earlier acceleration after cornering. but beware. haha~~

Now NIC is worried abt the QC, seems to have lots of small issues all over. Massive rattling on dashboard while accelerating from low end, OVR OWR errr...forgot..whatever issue that should not have be. I would wait till at least to SE or FL version release only dare to even consider the option of changing to Preve.
I go for PE precisely becoz it look good and PE have mostly fixed all earlier issue. Now quite satisfied with it especially its precision handling allows me to swerve in and out like nobody business. Maybe its the cheaper proton mentality causing me to take risk where I would never do with my city and civic....primarily its the handling that allows me to swerve, cut, etc with confidence...I think.
what people say is the dashboard parts are unable to stand the power of the car. therefore the rattling ==" + proton QC.
