I think the confusion is on the aa filter and for me at least, i prefer DR over high iso.

I know it a long held discussion "Made IN??" but still as I saw in the Imaging Resource especially the bottom part stated M.I.C Ouchh why not much hands on on the net at least show the NFC located so I can see more units to see where it manufacture from just as RX100 some Made In Jpn and some M.I.C maybe to cater the demands of its most succesful compacts but pls me personally hope that M'sia receive the Made In Jpn because I knew its all depends from which Sony M'sia are ordering and getting the stock from the Plant either Jpn Plant or Chn Plant. It's toward personal opinion in this long held discussion matter hehe smile.gif

Personally I don't think it matters... it's just a sticker.

"Made in Japan" label doesn't necessarily mean that its really made in Japan.

Just came back from DigitalMall, asking price of RX100, was quoted RM2000 cash (with ori case + 8GB + screen protector).

Early this year, the price was RM20xx... not much of a difference. Hopefully when the new RX100M2 comes out, RX100 price will drop further.

can someone tell me their bad experiences with rx100 or what to avoid when shooting with rx100...what settings to not use as a tip? some people are believing also that the rx100m2 will be bad in bright sunlight due to the back focusing and this an nd filter would be needed on sunny days all the time.

While Sony trying to say mkii is to "supplement" RX100, prices on eBay are showing otherwise. Considering most sellers are selling in USD and given that current USD-MYR rate isn't favourable, cheapest buy-it-now that I saw was RM17++ from HK seller (as usual). I bought mine for RM2,050 with local warranty. Not sure about those sets from HK or elsewhere.

Anyway, been trying to poison 2 friends to get RX100 too. So far, just interested but haven't bought yet.

The RX100 II will be shipped on July 26th here in U.S. I know Adorama has a price adjustment if you buy a camera and the price changes within 2 weeks, so i will wait till next week to buy RX100...if the price drops on the 26th, they will give me a price adjustment credit.

But it's been selling here for NT15,500 grey market (HK most likely) since a couple months back. That equates to approx RM1630.

Soon all this big size sensor will drop price eventually, with all those major player lowering their price for their APS-C sensor DSLR and more compact APS-C size camera coming out. It will be hard for the 1 inch sensor to maintain at 2k and above soon.

Dunno how to make it.. I guess will only know when folks start messing around with their MkII's.

The graph posted earlier was from Techradar and they also use DXOmark's tool to plot.

Note that the MkII's max dynamic range (which is what DXOmark use for the score on their site) is similar to the Mk1... just that it arrives later at ISO400.

Shashinki is very reputable and usually the go-to online store for camera stuff in Malaysia.
