Testing 123 biggrin.gif

Straight away used the camera to shoot liao after taking it out of box. First impressions: the camera is awesomeeeeeeeeeeeee. really sharp lens, perhaps even better than my Tamron 1750, and sweet bokeh! still a lot to be learnt biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

RX100 users. how do you customise your front wheel dial? I find that if i customise it to be able to adjust ISO or other settings, then in my manual mode it also works the same way. Meaning I only have one dial at the back to adjust either shutter speed/aperture, but i can't adjust the other now. Manual mode a bit redundant D:

also the camera has the tendency the decrease shutter speed for exposure gain instead of increasing ISO. a bit frustrating to say the least.

If I may add, found that Sony does offer extended warranty up to 3 years as well. Sorry, I'm such a noob. If I get myself an M3, will try to ask for this. Seems better than what "Sony Center" Foto Shangri-la was offering with some 3rd party company.

yeah u have to ask for the official warranty. they will register for you on the spot and print our the document for you. then you can check on the mysony website it will state your product as well as the warranty expiration date.

For my M3 i got a total of 3 years + 3 months.

Yeap! And now I paid the price for lousy customer service when trying to claim warranty. IMHO, SEW didn't look super expensive and I hope they are much much better than whatever Foto Shangrila was working with.
Poison! So its from new IOI city mall or from older IOI mall. Confused lah so many IOI.

i think it's the new one haha. Under Foto Miami one.

i just bought sony rx100 and i used it for my travel recently..unfortunately the pictures didnt turn out well contrary to what i expected..im a noob in taking pictures..but last time when i used olympus dslr pictures were so much better..just that i like this sony cause there were not so much blurry pictures..

the RX100 tends to drop its shutter speed instead of increasing ISO to compensate for light loss. The best way is to use Shutter Priority mode and set it at 1/80 - 1/100 and you will be fine for most of the time. having said that, you should read more about photography basics la. every camera can get nice pictures provided the settings are correct for the situation.

Sony warranty? That is too long, unacceptable.

I'm considering a mk2 or a mk3. Wondering if the low light capability @ wide open any difference or not.

u send to service centre or dealer for send to service on behalf of u?

send to sony centre directly.. probably the dust problem is quite serious that they had to order new parts.. guessing they are replacing the sensor and the whole lens if it's taking so long.. sweat.gif
