As usual, the LCD won't tell the whole story and while the jpegs are so so... it's the RAW that really shines.

Yeah I'm based in Taiwan... I got the RX100 as carry-everywhere and kids snapping camera (hard to get their attention if there a dslr planted on my face).

so if i am hearing it properly, it is best to shoot the rx100 in raw mode instead of jpeg ?

Very very very condensed version of how the camera works...

1) When u press the shutter button... shutter opens.... light goes in the lens..... captured by sensor as data

2) Data will be processed by the jpeg engine (the processor) by adding settings like your creative style, DRO settings, whitebalance settings, noise reduction, sharpening.

The RAW file is just the data without going through the jpeg engine.... which you have to convert in your PC to a jpeg.

And since you're converting it in your PC, you have a more accurate screen, you can adjust according to your preference and then export it into a jpeg.

In a way, RAW file is like film and Jpeg is like the photo.

nope. juz get a double side tape and it does the works. strong enough to hold it, and can turn the cpl filter around without loosening it.
the cheapest filter kit is $39.99. saw some diy with double tape and it works wonder.

of course the double tape is on the step up ring converter which in the end slap the cpl to the converter
i realize its best to get 42mm-52mm step up ring. mine is 43mm-52mm. d sad part is my step up ring is made of steel/aluminium? which can't cut with normal tools.

need a electric saw or similiar things to cut it and made it bcome even so that it can be stick nicely instead of the 1mm space (refer to where you screw it into your dslr lens).

i also noticed that the rx100 price is still holding steady....when is it gonna drop la....

we, owners of RX100, do not want a drop in price, so that we can be at the top of the list for as long as possible.

what annoys me about the RX100 is that it takes a bit of time to write to card or whatever it is doing. especially in a burst mode, the screen would go blank for quite some time before you can do anything else

am i doing something wrong or thats the way it is for this camera?

I already tried a fast SD card, it makes no difference

You can do batch edits etc in Lightroom.

Yeah.. everything is fast except write time. Lens won't retract when its writing and "cannot read card" messages comes out for a sec or two when writing.

Hope they get a firmware fix though.

Spam some shots from yesterday.. in a way also testing the IS since its all handheld.

On the green wording and arrows. so after you cut it, you will have a nice flat base which can be stick to the rx100 more nicely/grip
