http://www.windowsupgradeoffer.com/
Bought it at the 2nd floor (D MOBILE COMPUTER SDN BHD)
Got the machine at 4th floor (PC3 Technology S/B)

I've asked them to do it for me but they tried to scam me and tell me that Win7 Home basic is not eligible for the offer but I told them i've already contacted Microsoft and they clearly says that Win7 Home basic is eligible for it.

Then they offered to give me a new unused genuine win8 pro upgrade.

So i waiting there for hours for the upgrade and it FAILED !

They wanted me to go there again tomorrow saying that they'll format my pc then upgrade or if it still fails they will do a clean installation.

will update tomorrow.

So, what's the outcome?

Any volunteer pro user of Ideapad Y series who has spare time to open/maintain v2? rclxms.gif
Wish to see Y series better than other threads as its very popular with Y580/Y480 and the new Y500 & upcoming Y400. thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

probably can open y580/480 v2 thread, but apparently there's an abandoned official y series thread....
http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=1030792&hl=
so, revive that old thread or just make v2 thread for y580/480 and include y500/400???

IMO, its better to combine all Y series under one roof rather than open so many Y series threads to compete with each other. laugh.gif
It will also help the "Alien Y" motheship thread move faster to next version. thumbup.gif
Pro users of Y580/Y480 can also help the junior new user of Y500/Y400 or future Yxx series to overcome the Lenovo software/hardware issues since its under the same cateogory of Lenovo multimedia Y series.

Needs a good sumaritan to handle the increasing popular "Alien Y" motheship. rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

nah.. Upgraded it myself rather letting those guys do it.

Save time. = =

Any Y580 users using Win 8 now ?

Lenovo drivers is not yet fully compatible with Win 8 and some features will be gone if you upgraded to Win 8 such as On Screen Display, One Key Recovery, some other stuff .

How to disable the Win 7 HB?

So many times, still unable to update.

Feeling annoyed. Worse part. go to lenovo website and download the drivers and it say "My PC does not meet the minimum requirements." when download the Intel Rapid Storage.

so, the general consensus is revive the old thread???
http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=1030792&hl=
or make a new Y series thread (with a bit different naming style compared to the old, abandoned thread)??

I vote for a new thread and then merge all Y series together then we can share better information. smile.gif
