Don't know if its just me. IMO I don like a player join another team that are on the same league.

but if you were in their shoes, afterall, they are just changing their job in the same field with different employer only right?

yes, you have to face your former employer again, but we may not 100% sure what they are up for when they opt for a change, be it chase for bigger pay cheque, trophies or etc... but we have to respect them still?

take Torres as example, wouldn't you appreciate what he had done for Liverpool over the years before he switches?

what can we as fans do? suck it up and move on like they do....!

i think not that much. if you divide 2 million euros with 52 weeks equal with 40,000 euros a week. i think the stand out is the 1 million signing fee to him.

2 million net right? at 50% income tax, means 4 million gross

LFC complete Assaidi transfer: Liverpool Football Club have today completed the signing of Oussama rclxms.gif
He arrives on a £2.3 million deal and is a Morocco forward

Assaidi, who has represented Morocco 22 times, said: "I'm very happy to play for this big club. The first time I spoke to the coach I had a good feeling. I had offers from other big clubs but I've been waiting for this moment.

"The coach gave me a good feeling. It will be a dream to play with these big players and I hope training will help me to be a good player here.

"When I watch Liverpool it's always a good atmosphere, the fans are fantastic and I'm happy to be here".

never heard of him, had a few quick look at the video posted - tricky and hard working (reminds me about Dirk Kuyt in his defensive duty).

Dempsey refuses to play for Fulham

Clint Dempsey has been fined for refusing to play for Fulham this weekend, but ESPN understands that the American does not want to play for the club ever again.

Dempsey, 29, has been at Craven Cottage since 2007 but, with his contract due to expire next year, has signalled his intention to move on this summer and wants to test himself in the Champions League.

The USA international was left out of the club's pre-season training camp in Switzerland amid speculation about his future and will not feature in Fulham's Premier League opener at home to Norwich City on Saturday. Manager Martin Jol confirmed that Dempsey wants to leave, but said the forward will only be sold if the club receives a suitable bid.

"Clint was not involved over the last four weeks, so he is not going to be in the squad," Jol said. "He is not committed to the club. He wants to leave. I would like to keep him, but I think it's impossible. It's a sad and an almost embarrassing situation."

However, an ESPN source has confirmed that Dempsey's desire to leave means he is refusing to play for the club again.

"The player is refusing to play for the club," the source revealed. "He has refused to play in the opening game tomorrow, and he is refusing to play because he wants to go.

"It is very embarrassing for the club but the club is working hard to find a solution, but it is a difficult one. Clint has been linked to Liverpool all summer but Fulham have not received an offer from Liverpool for him or indeed an offer for him from any club.

"What action, if any, the club is taking will remain private, but the priority is to find a solution, rather than confirm or deny the club plan to fine the player."

Liverpool have been the club most strongly linked with Dempsey, with manager Brendan Rodgers having confirmed an inquiry was made.

At one stage, the website for the Massachusetts-based news channel New England Sports Network (NESN), owned by Fenway Sports Group, published a story suggesting the deal was done, but it was removed soon afterwards.

"That was very disappointing," Jol said. "There was never an offer. Clint himself told everyone he was going to Liverpool before he came back, so we really thought there was quite a firm interest in him.

"Even [Rodgers] told everyone he was interested in Clint Dempsey, but our people never had an offer on the table, so it's almost embarrassing. If you have shown interest in a player, especially in England, you have to follow it up with an offer. They didn't."

He added: "Maybe Liverpool will come back. I can assure you that our chairman is strong enough. At first we didn't want to get rid of him, later on we had to change our position - but our view is that we won't let Clint Dempsey go on the cheap, that's for sure."

Jol was also quick to express his disappointment at the recent conduct of Moussa Dembele's agent, denying that there had ever been interest from Real Madrid. Jan de Visser, Dembele's representative, had made comments to Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf indicating that a bid had been made by the Spanish side.

The Fulham boss said: "I spoke to his agent and I said to him it's not the cleverest thing to do, to speak about players. There was no offer on the table (from Madrid) and hopefully the situation will stay as it is. Hopefully Dembele will stay here.

"There was one low bid from one Premier League club, very low. Moussa is quite happy here. He wants to play here and if something happens, we will have to wait.''

when I read those, I amazed with this Q&A.

Q: Is it true you're currently fasting for Ramadan?

A: Yes, I am fasting now for Ramadan. I am Muslim and I believe in Allah, god. That's why I fast and do Ramadan.

Looks like Arsenal is really fighting hard for Sahin since Song is targeted really hard by Barcelona. Well if he comes he comes. I won't be surprised if we get Walcott or Dempsey by the end of the transfer window.

Just read that as well. Definitely a blow for Liverpool but i was already expecting that given that we are not in the champions league, it's always gonna be difficult to compete..

tat is why I hate bout english papers..making false statement bout how we get him for 3M or 3.5M ...in fact he only cost us 2.3M ..meanwhile a certain player cost 24M but being explained only 15M + add on ..

Funny, I don't know what you're trying to prove here but even so your theory is flawed.

Say for example, Downing was the player who bombed last season but we didn't lose all 20mil, have we? We still could sell the player for 12mil, so that makes an 8mil paper loss. But that only occurs if we sell him on. What if the current manager has faith in him and he suddenly turns around this season? Even if he doesn't turn around, a 12mil-ish winger is still a good player to have in the squad.

On the other hand, if a 3mil player bombs... damn, I don't even know if he's worth the bench.
*
Even if I sell your favorite player Stewart Downing in this scenario, for 12mil, well let's say i give LFC another extra 3 mil for his British genes and make it 15mil.

We would still have a paper loss of 5 mil.

On the contrary, Oussama bombed or got sacked for stealing a hairgel in Tesco, and leaves the club on free.

So which one is the better deal here? You will still have losses!

Oh now we are getting back to the faith discussion again. So based on your logic, it's better to buy BMWs that break down regularly and having a KIA that is equally problematic but has no resale value? WOW, i'm impressed.

Brilliant theory you have there. Petre just took the words from my mouth. Enough said.
