QUOTE(seantang @ Aug 14 2012, 09:35 AM) And your worldview is that you/me/Malaysians/other foreigners in Singapore are equivalent to Banglas in Malaysia? I only view it as local and foreigner and we still consider as foreigner in SG. maybe i was wrong on salary wise. Sorry about that.

QUOTE(Tigerr @ Aug 14 2012, 10:43 AM) your friend a bangla or what???? my friend works here as a PR but taking home a 600k annual package.....you think he works like a bangla or what?? Haha, maybe my friend just jealous that we able to work in Sg, so that trying to say all those bullsh*t to me, like cannot drive la, no mamak, thing very expensive la and so on, hence also saying i am a bangla in singapore getting lower salary compare to same level of experience of people in malaysia. But well, if you willing to work hard, you can, YES YOU CAN !!

QUOTE(seantang @ Aug 14 2012, 11:33 AM) With friends like that, who needs enemies? Anyway, just ask your friend to go out to a group dinner in Malaysia. Go to a nice, expensive restaurant, like Western, Japanese, Korean, hotel etc... then when the bill comes - ask him to pay. Then say if he cannot afford, you can pay. See S$ or RM salary endures more wallet pain.

QUOTE(stupid434 @ Aug 15 2012, 11:53 PM) ya, i am wondering too. When he told me that he can only apply work permit for me, I did ask him and tell him that i should be able to apply S pass. Then he said no no no, is either EP or WP. And another company told me the same S pass is very very difficult to apply and renew nowadays. Maybe is how much the company need to pay to government depend on the pass you apply?

QUOTE(r1v3r @ Aug 16 2012, 11:19 AM) If they hint you have to convert then they offer you the job, will you convert? Some jobs in SG especially those with home team, political position etc will "encourage" you to convert before you can move to higher level. Cisco police is more commercial. SPR is not enough?

QUOTE(jungyu @ Aug 16 2012, 12:34 PM) guys, i need advices, it'd be better if got any case alike. i intend to apply for PR. i am work permit holder, office type, have a malaysia local uni degree, with monthly salary over $3k. my company does not intend to upgrade my pass as the chance of success ould be very slim. so i wonder if i can apply for pr with work pass? Your salary and your cert is enough for EP, why they still give you WP?

QUOTE(momijigari @ Aug 16 2012, 02:31 PM) Sometimes it boils down to your company. There's no maximum cap for WP, you can earn 3K or 4K and still hold a WP. I know someone who is drawing a monthly salary of 2K graduated from UM holding EP whereas a guy who has masters degree in engineering holding WP (fresh graduate). Wow the master degree willing to hold a WP?? Added on August 16, 2012, 2:59 pmQUOTE(ivanswk @ Aug 16 2012, 02:35 PM) so it seems ICA want 2 years residency from u my friend applied on June and get approval on last week. period of staying in SG is 5 years, does period of stay affect your chance for getting PR? QUOTE(kuntaker @ Aug 17 2012, 08:19 AM) whao, audit assistant only 2k? what is the range for audit assistant salary at there? you completed ACCA already? Added on August 17, 2012, 8:24 amto work in singapore, how long does the work permit can be done? lets say i apply now, possible to work on october? You mean to get an interview first? or for the pass to be issue? after the interview, you need to submit the application form, normally done by HR, after approve, then go for medical checkup, the wait for around 5-7 working days, only you can get it. from submission till get the pass, should be taking around 2 weeks or more.

QUOTE(deodorant @ Aug 17 2012, 10:09 PM) Not only EP. I'd imagine any card also can as long as your fingerprints are stored with government. My fiancee before getting her EP, used to go through automated lane using passport even when she was on LTVP (long term visit pass) Hmm...I shall give it a try tomorrow to avoid jam at woodland checkpoint Added on August 18, 2012, 12:38 amQUOTE(tailtwist @ Aug 17 2012, 10:01 PM) YES!!....just use your Malaysia passport to scan......can use the Automated Clearance lines Thanks... QUOTE(seantang @ Aug 22 2012, 04:24 PM) If they cut the corner of your Malaysian driving licence after giving you the extract, does that mean that you cannot drive yourself home from the JPJ office? Need friend to drive you home since you don't have the SG licence yet? haha, you are right, but in Malaysia, apa pun boleh... that mean will keep two license ? so nice??
