QUOTE(jessica.hui2702 @ Aug 3 2012, 08:27 PM) Hi, I am Malaysian going to be graduate in sep 2012.I am interested to work in singapore and my major is analytical economics. although my major is economics, but I dont feel like want to work economic-related job if possible (boring... If you think coming down for interview is costly, then you better apply job that you only interested in, so that if they called you to interview, you more willing to come rather than anyhow apply, where you might receive alot of interview. Thanks in advance someone can give me so advise. But no pain no gain, if you think it is costly to come down even one interview, you hardly to get a job in singapore, unless if you receive a few call for interview, arrange it at the same day, will be rushing abit, but at least no so costly. |

Stay at JB, you save money but waste your time on travelling as you are not the only one crossing the custom when finish work, try to imagine how bad it is |

QUOTE(r1v3r @ Aug 6 2012, 11:08 AM) Dont drive a malaysian car if you just work in Woodland. The cost, parking, time spend etc not worth it. If you have family or house in JB then then can consider the public transport like KTM train or bike. Maybe he just used to driving car in malaysia, hence he just want to cont driving. Depend on your disposable income, if it is t >30% then I suggest you just pay the S$600 for the room and peace of mind, you still can go shooping/eating in JB easily. |

Need some help here, everyone heard about the new rules stating that SG PR cannot rent out the house for the first 5 yrs, right?
I found out there is another condition behind this rules, that is if you already rent out the house for more than 5 years, you cannot rent the house again, is that true? anyway to deal this kind of situation? it is a urgent matter, really need help !! |

QUOTE(deodorant @ Aug 8 2012, 12:15 AM) http://www.asiaone.com/Business/News/Story...711-358484.html OMG "... new revisions made to the rules and regulations mean that flat owners with permanent residency will only be allowed to sublet their flats for a maximum of one year, and only if they are doing so for the first time. Furthermore, applications to extend approvals will be assessed at the end of one year on a case-by-case basis only, with the total period of subletting a flat capped at five years." Even if the PR owner stay in the house still cannot subletting the house right? any solution for this situation? now must find room rent out from singaporean already... |

QUOTE(deodorant @ Aug 8 2012, 09:42 AM) Ask chessgal or your agent for confirmation cos I taktaulol. OIC, because i rent not directly from the house owner, is the kind of unit with no house owner, that mean the rules affected me, now my housemate told me that they waiting for the agent to appeal for them, because they sign the agreement before the new regulation come out, but agent say during submit the agreement to HDB, alot of problem causing current situation to happen. My understanding is that subletting in this case refers only to renting out the entire flat, and not to individual rooms. Because if you read that asiaone link I posted, it says: "Under the old rules, all flat owners -- both Singaporeans and PRs -- who meet the minimum occupation period could apply to rent out their flats for a period of three years." MOP only applies when an owner wants to rent out the entire flat. If the owner wants to rent out just a bedroom, there is no such concept as MOP. For room rental, HDB approval isn't even required, owners only need to inform HDB (sos). So I would conclude that if you are renting a room (or renting out a room), these new regulations do not affect you. |

QUOTE(redFragrant @ Aug 8 2012, 12:26 PM) Well, is you keep thinking like that, then i think is the company problem not calling you for interview, nothing to do with you, carry on your job huntAdded on August 8, 2012, 1:35 pm QUOTE(chess_gal @ Aug 8 2012, 01:00 PM) Ya betul. Only applies to renting out whole flat but not individual room. It is not uncommon that owner tries to go around the regulation by locking one room. Added on August 8, 2012, 1:14 pm Is it? I thought usually headhunter get paid by employer! Are you just pulling the poor fellow's leg? As far as I am aware, commission/fee is payable by the employer. Haiz, now i know if you voilate the regulations set up by HDB, they have the right to seal your house and not allowing you to take your thing, but i thought if the agreement signed before the new rules and regulations (the house cannot be rent out by PR after already sublet for 5 years) be effective, it wont affect the agreement? but why now i will facing this kind of problem where i might be forced to move out?

QUOTE(megadisc @ Aug 10 2012, 11:08 AM) Only can go back on Saturday afternoon, no choice already.Added on August 10, 2012, 1:49 pm QUOTE(deodorant @ Aug 10 2012, 01:09 PM) Are you basing this "I thought" on some sort of communication from the government, or from your agent? Or are you just assuming? Ya, you are right, i am doing assumption because i not the one dealing with the agent,is my housemate dealing now, everything i thought is based on what my housemate told me and show me the agreement, i just feel sad that have to move again.Either way, since your house owner (I suppose is PR) is unable to renew the approval with HDB, perhaps your assumption is false and the government says that "5 years means 5 years, no more" lor. Added on August 10, 2012, 1:51 pm QUOTE(vonnevonne @ Aug 10 2012, 01:32 PM) Well, for my case, usually from Seremban heading to Singapore was RM45 and now it go to RM110. Seremban still ok la because quite some buses goto seremban, you still manage to buy ticket. Luckily was I brought the ticket from Singapore heading back was standard rate. I encounter the same scenario before, jam in Woodland for more than 3 hrs. This post has been edited by yhoong12: Aug 10 2012, 01:51 PM |
