I do alot of whatsapp too but not so much on browsing. I toggle wifi and 3G. Can say daily i use 6 hours 3G the rest of the hours is wifi. The battery usage is pretty alright to me. It does last around 10hours to me. Sometimes I feel that it's about 12 hours too. And also, I toggle my screen brightness too. As it's getting dark ( night time), I will switch lowest brightness, it does help you to conserve battery life even the battery showing it's low + with the heart logo on it. And everyday I talk on the phone at least 30min maximum 1hour. It depends on how much you use really. I use whatsapp send about 30-50 msg during my time outside. I think there's no other new phone that have good battery life, really. If it enables you to use up to 10 hours with 3G, it's pretty good tat's my opinion.

How is the battery life on Lumia 800? I have a galaxy nexus but the battery life sucks. I kinda miss my iphone 4 battery life, it was so good! Anyone here can make a comparison between these 3 phones? Thanks.

Generally,it's quite mediocre in the smartphone segment, edge usage and regular use can last for 20 hours for me.Heavy usage can last for at least 12 hours.

guys, i'm thinking of switching to SIII because of unresolved issue with Nokia Care for the phone.

but before that, i would like to ask here, who knows u guys might know sumthing Nokia guys don't.

(sorry if it already asked before, the post is too much for me to read 1 by 1 and i'm running out of time, since there is a limited time offer for SIII)

1. file transfer via bluetooth; esp. the pictures taken by lumia 800, how to bluetooth to a person next to you using SII? Nokia guys said that i have to skydrive it first then let the receiver donlod it back. that's twice the job. they said this is because they want to avoid phone user from getting a virus via bluetooth transferring.

2. contacts synching without duplicating existing; i have 2 phone, 1 is Nokia E63 n since its qwerty type where i used for sms'ing. i oso always update my biz contact there, a dozen per week, bcoz easier to type (esp. while driving tongue.gif). the problem is when i want to update my contact in L800. i cant simply transfer contact because it will duplicate all my existing contact. is there a synching solution to let lumia update my contact rather than transfer.

3. email file attachment; i press attach but i can't find my excel file. all it shows is from my images folder. how to select my excel file to attach? and why is it when i forward an email with an attachment, my partner doesn't receive the attachment file? only the email.

any idea guys? PM me, dont juz post it here, i'm not always online here sad.gif

tq in advance.

update: solved the first part of the 3rd issue. thumbup.gif

1. You can't send files via bluetooth. It's has pretty much the same limitation and restriction with iPhone, where you can't send files via bluetooth, you can't access your internal storage from PC, no file browser, need to use software called Zune to transfer media files (e.g. same like iTunes), etc.
The virus thing is an excuse; this is what happen when you ask people why this cannot, that cannot and they have to give a reason. If so, then why don't prevent you from downloading files, better use dumbphone.

2. If not wrong, it will auto-merge similar contacts (based on specific matching conditions).
However there's a limitation your contact cannot have 2 mobile phone number ** but there's a workaround it which you need to do manually.
There's also another possible problem when using Nokia Contacts Transfer, which generated empty contacts; not sure is it already fix in new version. The problem? There is no multi-select option, so delete the long list of empty contacts is crazy.
The contacts will also be sync to your MSN; you can manage it easier from there (as Zune softwaredoesn't have Contacts Management built-in , and I think there's no PC software for this.)

hi guys.

just want to ask.

i found out that WP does have certain 'regional features' that does available on certain region. Like the usual, Malaysia doesn't have Xbox LIVE, SG has.

Is there any reference which region got which features?

Also, recently I went down to dig deeper about this, there are some features like music + videos capability of live tiles, artist picture replacing wallpaper when music is playing (search for Zune Social Tagger), dj smart mix (similar to Apple Genius), Zune Social, etc, etc. And I do reset my phone, my pc and my zune to US region just to experience that. Marketplace for buying apps? Nah, I hardly buying any apps. I'm minimalist.tongue.gif

The more I dig, I also found out that actually Hotmail/LIVE account only supported up to 100 contacts only and the number of contacts can be stored increased slowly by increasing 'the reputation' of our LIVE account . I believe this can be achieve just like the way Xbox LIVE does to the Achievements. So right now I ended up storing all my contacts in GMail since they support contacts up to 1000 max. Right now still searching more reliable contacts backup service since I do believe my contacts will easily reaching more than 1000 in few years time.

Right now I also thinking is Bluetooth transfer will cease to exist with the emergence of cloud storage. Even Maxis offered it with Maxis Loker nowadays. What happened with NFC; I can always imagine it is the way we connect wireless devices to our computers in the future. Like wireless thumbdrive, touch to connect. tongue.gif Dunno, maybe I was thinking too much.

Sorry for the interruption guys, but i'm letting go of my 1 week old Lumia 800 at RM950, if anyone is interested, do PM me.

On a more relevant note, i've compared its camera to the S3, and i can say that the Carl Zeiss lens does make it a winner, by far, superb pics.
