1st time try out 50m pool.
Finish 4lap only ( go n back) 400m in 40min swimming.
Drag to long becz every 50m I stop n rest

But quite happy becz able to finish my freestyle without stopping in the middle for 50m..

I tot I was doing great but I check online it seem I have done terrible. Lol

How much time does one ppl normally finish a 50m ?
*
50m below 2 min usually i guess. I'm still not that fast only finish 1km under 45 mins.

incredibly subjective.

students training for competitive swimming would be aiming for half a minute and below.

marathon swimmers should be conservative on energy usage and would be around 45 seconds to a minute+ but factors will change after the first hour and subsequent hour afterwards.

for consistency and endurance in swimming, technique is key, muscles only partially helps. The focus is knowing a proper breathing technique, and proper recovery on every stroke count so that you don't get tire out easily and maintaining a steady heart rate.

It's very much like cardio on the treadmill once you go long distance, the functionality is the same but technique and muscle memory is different.

Want to share with you guys my first time visiting Chin Woo outdoor swimming pool last week, the water is extremely clean and not crowded when I went around afternoon. The pool is Olympic size pool, 25m by 50m, deepest is 5m.

My only complain is the facilities, their super small size 3-in-1(toilet/changing/shower room) are almost scrapped, and each cubicle has no door.... If you don't mind seeing other men butt cheeks and genitals........ahem....then go for it.....

Hi,
How old are you?
Waterpolo is quite a demanding sports. Normally need much training before can aactually start playing the game.
U need to be very good in threading water with each leg kicking down at a time in a sitting position or bicycle position they call it.

Seems like there are a lot of good comments regarding the Kayenne goggles, really feel like getting one soon. Currently I'm using the Speedo vanquisher, strong strap with no leaks but the antifogging wear off after 1 to 2 use have to apply antifogging spray everytime I go to swim. Aside from the anti-fogging I think the vanquisher is the best goggles I have used so far, since everyone is recommending Kayenne, I might as well getting one. biggrin.gif

Just found out recently the condition of Speedo googles compares with Aqua Sphere after 2 years usage.

1 year old Speedo Aquapulse

VS

2 year old Aqua Sphere Kayenne.

Usage of Aqua Sphere easily more than x2 Speedo over the last 2 years, both saltwater and chlorinated pool.

In terms of durability, water tightness and anti-fogging, I'm convinced Aqua Sphere is a much better product compares with Speedo.

In terms of design & packaging, Speedo wins no doubt. thumbup.gif

ps:- the best and cheapest anti-fog still own saliva. Forget about those expensive anti fogging spray. Just spit and rinse with water. Own saliva so no yucky. wink.gif

Hi,
Kepong area not sure. How much is your budget?
I have friends teaching as well. If I have the time i can teach as well.
Do let me know but what is your goal in the end? To be able to swim or join competitive swimming.

Nice one Bobby,
The only reason why I got Speedo is the availabilty of its short sighted vision corrector.
I wonder if the other brands have it here I don't mind trying.
Regarding the anti fogging spray, i do get the anti fogging spray from arena and it works in for the open sea swim but not at the swimming pool. I wonder why.

Get those daily soft lenses. No worries of loss in the water. My degree not so high so used only when necessary esp in open water.
