I'm planning to take adult swimming course at Chin Woo Stadium, anyone learned swimming from there? Mind sharing your experience while taking the course, is it good or bad.... is the coach good at teaching, tolerance towards his students ...?

anyone can diagnose my problem?

in short, I have problem staying afloat while taking breath. I'm ok if my head is completely submerged. but when my head is lifted, my lower body sinks.
*
Are you flutter kicking while lifting and taking breath? If not then I would say is very normal... Think of your body as seesaw, if you lift your head, your hip sinks.

I can't seem to find swedish goggles here, so I order online tongue.gif . Actually I have an extra set left, it has been sitting in my drawer for 6 months now.
If you are interested I can sell it to you, it is speedo brand btw.

Can you guys do egg beater kicks in the pool without relying on your hand, I can do a basic egg beater kicks but have to rely on my hand to help me balance and keep me afloat. Also my egg beater kicks cannot last more than 1 min before my legs are completely exhausted. Any recommendation on help to improving my kicks?

Any good brand other than Speedo ?
*
Depends on what accessories you are looking for, for goggles and swimsuits is better to go for speedo and arena. If you are on a budget you can go for TYR too. I'm not a big fan of TYR goggles but their swimwear isn't bad though. Avoid Ogival brand as their quality is really bad.

If you are looking for good quality googles, you can try Aqua Sphere Kayenne Goggle, it has the most positive reviews on Amazon and even surpass Speedo and Arena.

For TYR goggles you can get them over here:
http://www.suriaklcc.com.my/shopping/sports-fitness/stadium/

For Aqua Sphere kayenne goggle you can visit any Rip curl branches in Malaysia, they should have them:
http://www.suriaklcc.com.my/shopping/fashion/rip-curl/

As for Speedo, unfortunately no, but you can try buying them online but is not gonna be cheap though.

Bro, i've heard about the Aqua Sphere K180+ and Kayenne googles as i was searching for good quality goggles after my Speedo Fastskin3 has been worn out. Aqua Sphere, the new brand that rises along with Michael Phelps as ambassador as he had ended his long history partnership with Speedo since the age of 15 (Sydney 2000 Olympics). I'm currently wanted to buy either K180+ (if available) or Kayenne. May i know where i can walk in to purchase in Malaysia? Amazon doesn't ship Aqua Sphere products outside North America.
*
Not sure about other places though, but in KL you can get it in any rip curl outlets

one in KLCC:

one in Fahrenheit88(see the goggles on the right):

Thanks for the info bro, I'll visit the Sunway Pyramid one. Hope they got carry K180+. I guess it would be priced around RM160+? Still cheaper than Speedo Fastskin3 mirror goggles (RM200).

Does Rip Curl carry Aqua Sphere jammer too?
*
I don't think they carry AS jammer though, not sure about K180+ but last time I saw kayenne goggles was selling RM99 before GST, good luck man. smile.gif

Got to agree with you on this.

I have both Aqua Sphere Kayenna and Speedo Fastskin. Kayenne bought 1.5 yrs ago while Speedo Fastskin bought early this year.

Kayenne anti fogging is much better than Speedo, last longer. Easily 6-9 mths. Waterproofing also better. Speedo only good in design and packaging. Quite disappointed with Speedo durability. Kayenne easily adjustable buckle is great, at least it wouldn't easily getting loosen after some time in the water, unlike Speedo.

I use them quite often, both fresh and salt water. Now hoping old Kayenne wearing off faster so can get a new goggle for cross Kapas swim next year  wink.gif
*
Seems like there are a lot of good comments regarding the Kayenne goggles, really feel like getting one soon. Currently I'm using the Speedo vanquisher, strong strap with no leaks but the antifogging wear off after 1 to 2 use have to apply antifogging spray everytime I go to swim. Aside from the anti-fogging I think the vanquisher is the best goggles I have used so far, since everyone is recommending Kayenne, I might as well getting one. biggrin.gif

thanks.. lucky i have baby shamppoo.. using it tongue.gif

btw, i wanna get wa watch for swimming to track time.. after hunt down a few shop.. shall i go for sport brand ( i like Puma design) or go for those normal waterproof casio/sekio brand which not so sporty type hmm.gif

i haven wear any watch since like 10 year ago biggrin.gif
*
If just to track time normal cheap digital watch (must be water resistant of course) should do the trick,
if you want to track your workout like calories burned go for misfit shine or misfit flash. http://misfit.com/
If you want to track our strokes then go for garmin swim or speedo shine
http://sites.garmin.com/en-US/swim/ & http://misfit.com/products/speedo-shine whistling.gif

Im looking for vanquishers too! Where do you get them bro?

I need the non mirror version  icon_question.gif  icon_question.gif

Thanks hehe
*
I went to the Speedo outlet in Malaysia but they said the vanquisher is out of stock rclxub.gif , so I order from ebay instead haha.

Apparently there are vanquisher 1.0 and 2.0 being the never series.

vanquisher 1.0:

vanquisher 2.0:
http://www.enjoy-swimming.com/wp-content/u...im-goggle-1.jpg

I still have one old vanquisher 1.0 (that I order few last time from ebay), that I can sell it to you if you are interested. The 2.0 is very hard to get nowadays is either there are out of stock or overpriced on ebay or Taobao. Although I managed to get one for myself... whistling.gif

hey guys..

when i shop around watch shopping during xmas sales..
all give me same answer. 10ATM are not good for pool. need me take at least 20ATM above-
any idea? i start to swim like 2 day perweek and around 1hours a day.. ( still working on my stanima to stay longer)
*
Actually 10ATM is good enough for pool since your hand is not always stay deep within the water, when choosing a swimming watch is a matter of how deep your watch is gonna stay in the water. The deeper it is the higher ATM you will need. For 20ATM or higher is normally good for scuba diving.

But quite happy becz able to finish my freestyle without stopping in the middle for 50m..

How much time does one ppl normally finish a 50m ?
*
I want to know too, I'm swimming in a condo pool, 21m only and it took me around 30-40mins to finish a 1km length, with freestyle and breastroke, with 2-3mins rest in betweem

Want to share with you guys my first time visiting Chin Woo outdoor swimming pool last week, the water is extremely clean and not crowded when I went around afternoon. The pool is Olympic size pool, 25m by 50m, deepest is 5m.

My only complain is the facilities, their super small size 3-in-1(toilet/changing/shower room) are almost scrapped, and each cubicle has no door.... If you don't mind seeing other men butt cheeks and genitals........ahem....then go for it.....

Select the guided mode instead of the normal mode, then just click on the youtube button and a pop up window will pop up....

Then you need to copy the youtube url like so https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SONx52cyltI, only select the id which is SONx52cyltI and paste into the window
