For Inspiron 14R Special Edition - 3rd Generation Intel® Core™ i5-3210M processor (3M Cache, up to 3.1 GHz) Got BSOD problem or not? or only i7 version got BSOD?

tq
*
processor normally doesnt cause BSOD dude... for my previous case, its the graphic driver that gives the the problem.

NICE!  thumbup.gif

But roo bad the WEI only detects the intel chipset as GPU, hence the 5.6!
In reality i thinks it a bit higher...
Did you take the 15R with 1TB + 32GB SSD or just the 1TB?

However, it's Good to know that dell has overcome the BSOD issue!
*
i dont think it detects the intel chipset gpu. here's the wei for my 14r se

Ya, for the 14R SE, its using NVIDIA. thumbup.gif
It has a better switching programe than AMD. Also you can even set the NVIDIA as "primary" in its control panel  rclxms.gif  but not for the AMD  doh.gif . (based on my search in other forums)

but overall, both are almost the same in performance with NVIDIA  flex.gif  leading by a bit!

Anyway, i had to go for the 15R SE because it is has the msata SSD 32GB  drool.gif ! which utilises all the 4 cores to the max! compared to just a HDD 5400rpm  sweat.gif

BTW, hows your gaming experience with  it? hmm.gif
*
yea smile.gif
anyway, BF3 and Crysis 2 on Ultra ( DX 11 Pack and High Res Pack Installed ) without problems ! just that temperature will be around 85 degrees smile.gif how bout yours ?

o.O
my dell inspiron 14r se had no problem at all~ great screen and great speaker~
but it is quite irritating that many of dell program is useless inside this lappy... u need time to uninstall it and if u didnt ur start up will be slower~
sometime the fan has some "zzz" sound... (i think most of the new dell inspiron 14r se have this kind of problem)

i try this lappy on Diablo 3 and NFS the RUN~ nice graphic with gt640M~ no lagging at all~ the palm site quite hot when i just on my ceiling fan, if with air-cond is just nice~ warm warm~
*
what i did is that i did a factory backup using dell datasafe program and then formatted my lappie by repartitioning the hdd. alocated 200mb for system reserve ( in case i dual boot next time tongue.gif ) and another 200gb for os. and yea, i used the os disc which was provided by dell to reformat.

Got it. Thanks  thumbup.gif

As a noob to Windows 7, can someone guide me on the following:

1. What is the best power management plan to use if I don't want the battery to be constantly charged? And should I disable sleep mode if I want to leave the laptop to download overnight?
2. How to update drivers?
3. How to create a partition for my hard disk?
4. How to monitor temperature? Any recommended softwares or does the laptop have its own built-in software?
*
1. switch to ac mode. disable sleep, set instant launch manager button to turn off display when pressed, select do nothing when lid is close
2. http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/my/en/...roductSelection
3. press win button + r, type diskmgmt.msc, select which hdd that you wanna shrink, right click, press shrink volume, adjust the size of partition
4. use coretemp

I'm encountering this problem now, not being able to connect to the Internet. Did you manage to fix it? If so, how did you do it?

Added on August 23, 2012, 10:31 pmNever mind, it was the damn McAfee antivirus software. Uninstalled it and downloaded avg instead.

All is well.

Is the reformat easy? I keep reading around ppl having problems reformating due to the SSD and Intel's SRT.
If can, can list out your steps? tongue.gif

I tried searching for latest drivers using Window's Device Manager. No results.

Anyway how do you guys turn on WiFi? It always tells me my Wireless adapter is not enabled, but I have no idea where the option to turn it on is. I already tried using the FN key and the radio icon.
*
use the driver disc. its provided.
