The sound is caused by some loose rod in the IAFM, I think. The IAFM should still work properly, it's just that it's annoying. Warranty just over? Three years?

haha,nope below 3 years,but my mileage is high,salesman blush.gif

Just to be sure we are talking about the same thing (because some sifu mention rocker cover and I am not sure what is that) - the part circled red is the exposed part that concerns me.  And the parts circled green I believe that can screw the cover.  Not sure.

Thanks,
D

Entirely up to you whether you want an engine cover. Think my wife has a similar thought like you, she wont let me take it off, said its ugly. However, had to clean the engine cover fortnightly is truely pain in the butt. Or you can conveniently convert your engine to VTETEC

I don't own a CVT, but from what I can tell, all new owner of CVT have the same issue, don't know how steep they should step on the throttle. Keep your foot light, don't expect high performance. Its meant to be SMOOTH driving and you obey to that, CVT FC can be wonderful. Infact, most of these people in the forum had proven their CVT FC matches with manual tranny, sometimes even better. icon_rolleyes.gif Glad to hear your great experience. If free, please drop by Asia Cafe Puchong for TT, 9:30pm onwards.

If your coming from bukit jalil/sunway/OKR, means IOI mall on your right, go straight til you see Mobil station on your left. Take the left turn after the Mobil station (before the flyover u turn), then turn left again into the shops area. You will see a big hawker center with basement car park. Park at the basement.

One Puchong at LDP also can c liao mar..sumore dares had explain already... shakehead.gif

Asia Cafe. Jalan OP 1/1, Pusat Perdagangan One Puchong, Puchong

If from Sunway
The place is situated around One Pcuhong and is accessible from Lebuhraya Damansara Puchong (LDP), go towards to the IOI Business Park and u will notice a mobil petrol station along the LDP, after the mobil petrol station keep left, after a short distance u will arrive a junction and kindly turn into the junction and u are in the area of One Puchong. Thereafter turn once more left onto Jalan OP 1/1, which where the Asia Cafe is located.

Alternatif
from Lebuhraya Damansara Puchong (LDP), go towards to the IOI Business Park, before the IOI business park, there got a bus stop, take a left turn after the bus stop (but now UC so dunno still able to c the bus stop or not) after turning left got straight until u reach a traffic light, than u turn right onto Jalan Layang-Layang 1, after go straight for a short distance u will notice One Puchong is located on ur right, from there u can access from Jalan OP 1/5 to Jln OP 1/1 or u can direct go to Jln OP 1/1 before the junction exit.

Don't want your spirit to be here. Spirit don't bring wallet rite? You datang belanja TT la laugh.gif Kidding la, if you happen to drop by KL, do let us know so we meet, I'll buy TT then rclxms.gif

Anyway, regarding engine cover, there are NO actual answer to anyone, anywhere, anyhow. Simply because it DOES NOT belong to the engine. The main purpose was meant for decoration, whether you like it or not, that's the ONLY function it has. Please find below technical argument useful.

1) Sales assistants always claims it has the function to channel heat from the rocker cover mounting. My argument is, the screw itself is NOT titanium alloy(not effective heat conductor), and plastic does not take heat well, let alone using it as a heat sink? Either you heat up the plastic, melt it or break it. yawn.gif

2) Sales assistants said, due to the AFM produce massive noise, international emission standard does not allow that amount of noise for street cars, and therefore car manufacturer purposely spent millions of dollars to designed this piece of shit to insulate your AFM noise. One fine day I took off my engine cover, me and wifey drove it few days, nobody notice it so I kept quiet. Until I open the bonet and check engine oil, wifey come and make noise said its ugly lar, noise lar, car will not function properly la, car become slow lar, high petrol consumption lar, engine hot lar, worse is... she said stray dogs and cats could go into the engine... doh.gif My argument is, the plastic cover has been stripped out for several days, nobody notice it UNTIL they see it and all sort of REASONS of existence came up to support the placebo effect of the plastic cover.

3) Keep warm for the rocker arm/fuel rail/intake manifold during WINTER

Technically, the above 3 REASONS are the only reason they put a plastic cover on the rocker cover. As for dust collection, like it or not, with or without the plastic cover, your rocker sparkplug rail will accumulate dust. If you will not clean it, it will not clean. If you have a plastic cover, you'll have to clean the cover, open up and clean the rocker cover. Unless you're ignorant enough, just leave the dirt stuck at your rocker cover and continue polish your plastic cover.

A good read here

I personally like it WITHOUT the cover, but to each their own.
