Monk could be a better tank than Barb because monk has many healing skills.
The longer you stay in the game, the better tanker you are.

Finally beat Diablo Inferno, with the help of cowithgun. Many thanks to cowithgun.
Barb loves Monk. We didn't kite a lot. We could do melee just fine.

I was killed by Diablo more than 30 times before this, with the combo of WZ and WD.
It seems Monk-Barb combo is still the best.

I think it is not normal to see meelee class heroes to have more than 100K DPS.
I mean, for a monk or barb to have more than 100K DPS, you need very good weapon and armor.
And those would cost a lot. Of course, it would not be an issue if you have money to spend.
Ada wang, ada gears.

Based on my experience, you don't need such high DPS to beat Diablo/A3/A4.
I reckon 30K+ DPS would be just nice.

In many co-op games, I found Monk does help Barb stay longer in the game.
The Mantra of Healing (Time of Need) is a sweet thing when it comes to melee.
Breath of Heaven / Serenity / Inner Santuary could help monk stay longer too.
Of course, war cry of Barb does help other class of heroes.
Monk and Barb are perfect combo when it comes to melee. If you need tankers, just get a Monk-Barb combo.

You heard many voices.
Some said your stats are fine. Some said you are not. Some said doable.
I bet you get confused whether your gears are good or not.

Looking at your stats, honestly speaking, I'd say it is not fine but it is doable.
Either solo or co-op could be the solution. You need to find out which is an easier solution yourself.
For me, I have problem going solo, especially in A3 and A4. I found co-op games are much easier for me.

What does it mean by "doable"?
You can complete the A2 quests with died-uncountable-times + a-lot-of-kiting.
Forget about dual-wield like a boss. You can't do it in Inferno except Ghom, I guess (you need LOH though).
And you need to accept another fact that generally all types of heroes are toufu in Inferno unless you have god-like weapon and armor.
So, for your case, it is "doable" and just get ready to be killed uncountable times by the elite monsters and you need kiting.
Do not feel disheartened. I played a lot at public game and I can tell you ALL classes of heroes are toufu, if they do not have good gears.

Last but not least, choose the right skill is important.
For A2, Wrath of the Berserker (Insanity) + Earthquake (Chilling Earth) are effective in killing elites.

I reckon you need to "upgrade" some of your gears before proceeding to A3 and A4.
If you find you can't solo in A3/A4, go play in co-op game.

You need a group of players with determination.
I played at public game in A3/A4 (until Prime Evil). I met a group of players with full determination.
In A3, I had a monk and a DH (with high DPS). Monk & Barb are excellent combo when it comes to melee (both need to select the right skills).
In A4, I was the only melee hero and there were very good Witch Doctor and Wizard in my group. We played with full determination despite being killed like toufu in A4. Those flying elites that rained fire meteor were the pain-in-the-ass. There were few occasions we met few packs of elites and champions at the same location. We just kept whacking & whacking.
If my memory serves me right, I spent 500-600K of gold on repairs in A4.

In short, you need FULL determination if you play in co-op in A3/A4.
Each player must know the role to play and NEVER give up in whacking the elites (no matter how many of them).
Being killed like toufu is just normal - unless you have god-like gears.

I didn't use leap and overpower in A1 & A2.
I only used leap (Iron Impact) and overpower (crushing advance) in A3 & A4.

I used Frenzy in A1 and A2.
I used Bash (Pulverized) in A3/A4.

With my poor specs, I could hardly solo/farm A3 & A4.
I do not have high DPS & high LOH/life regen.
I have problem to kill 3-4 elites that gang-bang me. Therefore I need to go co-op game.
WotB+EQ will not do the trick for me in A3/A4 solo.
In A4, you'll encounter 2 packs of flying & teleporting elites. Just couldn't go solo.

You'll need LOH, especially when you fight Ghom.
You'll need LOH + overpower (crushing advance) when you fight Ghom.
Otherwise, you'll be killed by its poisonous fart in no time.
Unless you go upgrade your DPS that can kill it in 10 secs.

You will need 400+ LOH + overpower (CA) to kill Ghom.

I think you need high LOH (1200+) or high DPS (100K and above) to farm comfortably in A3/A4.
With my current specs, I tried to survive as long as I could (when it comes to elites fight).
If I go solo, 4 elites gang-rape me. My Enchantress is useless, she's dead even before the elites rape her (to be honest, I have no money to invest in her. Good rings and amulet aren't cheap nowadays). Slim chance to pursue further.
If I go co-op, we still get killed (it's normal) but at least we have 4 human players raped 1 elite at a time and slowly we wiped out all monsters.

Perhaps people have more time to spend on these days.

Good ring costs at least average 4 millions.
It is rare to find a good ring with below 4 millions nowadays.

I checked at AH just now, Crit DMG + LOH + Socket weapons are still priced sky-high.

Nope. Do not spend more than 300K on gears until LVL60.
For some reason, the game only starts at Inferno with your hero in LVL60.

My Monk is now in LVL51 and I have not spent more than 100K on gears.
I could spend less because my Monk can use some of the old gears from my Barb.

Crit DMG + LOH + Socket can be 2 stats.
Meaning it's either Crit DMG + Socket or LOH + socket.
I didn't even mention + STR or + VIT.

I still find the price is high.
Perhaps you can show us the specs and price of the weapon.
It could help us to get some cheap weapons. I hope my Barb can dual-wield in A3 and A4 too.

Achieving balance is the most difficult of all.
As you said, high HP + high DPS could be the way to go.

Similar build from this thread. High HP+High DPS but below average armor + AR.
This build could be good for boss fight. I'm not sure how effective it is when it comes to elites fight (i.e. 2 packs).

I watched the clip before.
This build has 30K DPS / 48K HP / 400AR / 390 LOH / 6500 Armor.

It is not a balance build.
High DPS & HP but average-below average AR/LOH/Armor.

The one with 400K is a good buy. Good DPS & VIT + socket.
It is easy to farm 400K.
That 2M is good too. Good STR + VIT.

Either one of these is good for my off-hand weapon.
I'll look for these at AH when I reach home.

It depends on existing your build and what you want improve in your current build.

1) If you have sufficient AR and you need of STR/VIT/Armor
2) You do not have sufficient LOH and you need life regen
3) You need STR/VIT/AR
