For rainwater harvesting which one do you guys recommend? The water is used for drinking(not directly, boil 1st) and for bathroom. Right now I'm using 3 10 inch filter to filter water from the rain water tank but it gets dirty and clogged easily. Need to change those filters once a month. Are those FRP sand filter better and last longer? Thank in advance.

A good combination would be sand filter and then membrane filter. Since u already have the 3 units 10" filters, why don't just add a sand filter before it. Sand filter are rated anywhere between 10 - 20 microns hence adviseable to have a membrane filter after it. Its good enough for bathroom but for drinking its better to have a POU.

The problem now with the 3 10" filters the water pressure is not that strong even with water booster pump (I'm using a 0.5hp pump). Afraid the when I add the sand filter before the 10 inch filters the water pressure will drop down more.

Might be ur using smaller micron for the filter? or maybe because its the rainwater (dirts) that are clogging. Try changing the filters to 5 micron which is good enough for POE.

1st filter : 10 micron
2nd filter : 5 micron
3rd filter : 5 micron

Try not to use sand filter with water pump. Its a known issue that the pump pressure might push the internal sands into ur piping and clogging the internal faucets.

IMHO, CTO carbon blocks are used for POU. Maybe u wanna try to workaround it. Im not sure the micron ratings for CTO, but that might be the cause.

Nope, you need carbon to remove chlorine. Staying in landed or condo? or landed u need the chlorine as water will be stored in a tank. For condo u can filter chlorine as water direct enter in to bathroom and kitchen

Best outdoor filter to reduce chlorine more than 90% and more than 100 types of contaminants, Aquaphor Viking PRO latest 2023 model (recommended only for Condo)

Is Delcol a good water filter brand? I need to get an old delcol outdoor filter serviced by changing the sand media but am wondering if getting a new filter is better.

Good day all,

After done researching on the membrane outdoor filter, based on the budget I narrow down into this 2 items;

1. Filken Ultra D series X3 - RM1399
2. Intact water Ultra series Flow+ - RM1399

Which one durable long lasting less headache to maintain?

Thanks for replying.

Im interested for the outdoor sand filter. Any brand recommended?

My previuos is Puregen. 5 years changes sand once. After using 10 years, straight rosak. No more warranty. But im ok. Maintenance free. Only backwash once a week.

I'm also looking for this. Shopee got those oem brands one, less than RM500 only or slightly higher for stainless steel body. Are these types good enough? Since the function is just to filter and backwash, it will be cheaper to change this once every 5 years instead of buying those branded ones.

Any other considerations needed?

Thanks

I am thinking of getting it as well, their sales/technical person seems very helpful and is willing to give out a lot of information. Talked to him via whatsapp and he sent pics, testimonials and explanation on their filter and functions such as auto flush, anti clogging etc.

Anybody's experience with their filter after a period of time will be much appreciated! smile.gif
