Many people asked me, 3M filter is so small, how can it collect so much dirty without backwash? the answer is it has a big surface area to trap dirt. 3M AP902 is using pleated membrane and the membrane is more than 10 times the size of the filter.

This is the problem with sand filters. WHen u do the backwash, you c dirty water like cofee/teh tarik coming out, so you think the filter is doing a good job. Actually, dirt and sand has entered our house pipeline and water tank. Try removing one of the tap's aerator and you will c some dirt and sand. The media should be replaced and the filter should b serviced averagely 3 years once to maintain good filtration.

From the video, they look alike but they are different.
1) 3M is using Pleated Membrane and the max length is 18ft (our video recorded 9ft which is half of the size). While diamond is using Filtron - high-density fibre (most probably 5-6ft only)

2) From Diamond website, their filter could filter upto 10 microns while 3M is 5 microns

3) Not sure about Diamond's warranty but 3M is like lifetime warranty as the product has 1 year warranty, when u replace the cartridge, it will renew the warranty.

4) YOu need to get Diamond's ppl to service it while 3M u can replace the cartridge urself after 370,000 litres of water in less than 10 sec.

THere are quite many 3M users here and weikee is one of them. Why is it small? it is using pleated membrane and from the video i posted, u can c the length is 18ft. It would b best if u can drop by my showroom so that i can explain in detail and also difference between 3M and other filters

not true.

It is simple, u can check online. Some filter has many layers like
1) Activated carbon
2) Silica Sand
3) Gravel
4) Course sand
5) Zeolite
6) Etc.

U can actually online google each of the media and c the pros and cons. I asked Perfect Steel sales person, why do we need so many layers? He say it is actually gimmicks and the media thatz really does the job is sand. Eg: You have 5 media.
1) Media 1 = FIlter 5 microns
2) Media 2= Filter 7 microns
3) media 3 = Filter 10 microns
4) Media 4 = FIlter 20 microns
5) Media 5 = Reduce Chlorine.

So, do you think it is better to have Media 1 or 2 only rather than all 5?

i dont think auto clean is suitable for condo. Imagine, where will the dirty water go?

Alphamax is OEM by Perfect Steel. If u read previous post, most Alphamax salesperson will say their media no nd to change which is not true. If you are eying on Alphamax u can get Perfect Steel from us at a better price

checked kinetico website, they have two tanks no wonder the media can last 5 years but i doubt can last til 10 years. Normal sand filters can last 3-4 years. However, most sand filters can filter max 5 microns but kinetico has 3 microns which is better. Since it is a media developed in conjunction with 3M, i guess that would b possible

This is actually quite common, there are many membrane filters in the market and all of them can filter upto 0.01 micron but did u ever think, do u need it to b so clean? If the filtration is 0.01 micron, wont it affect your water pressure?

Mainly there are two types of filter in the market
1) Membrane
2) Sand

Did any1 of you climb up to check your water tank after this recent water rationing? Well, i checked mine and it is still clean, seems like my 3M AP902 is doing a good job. I open up the 3M cartridge and turn it upside down, the water that flow out is like coffee .

sometimes the plumber lazy to climb up or wash bcoz the price is not worth it then they say no nd clean My dad actually use the garden hose to suck up the sand in the tank after renovation.

Previously all my rain shower heads got clogged with sand and dirt as per the photo

1) If your house is 10 - 20 years may be the underground pipe is GI pipe and it has rusted, so no matter how good your outdoor filter is, there is no way to clear off the yellowish water. If that is the case, you need to get a shower filter (installed at shower point)

2) Eczema, depending on which body shampoo you are using, i tried many even those recommended by doctors but i ended up with Shokubutsu Original but some of my friends say it is dry for them. Another best recommendation, Ezerra Body Shampoo, i usually buy them from Big Pharmacy, much cheaper compared to Guardian or Watson.

3) I read online that alkaline water helps to cure eczema and the best is KANGEN, even i have a friend who could get me a cheaper price for Kangen but it is just too EXPENSIVE, so i got Rubine instead. As per photo you can see I am using both Rubine Alkaline Water Filter and 3M DWS2500 . Got them both free from my supplier or else gonna cost me a bomb for both . From my experience using the Rubine water filter for 6 months, Alkaline water doesnt really help and my mother and wife had some site effect after drinking it. However, the acid water is useful, it dries up my eczema faster and reduce itchiness. If you really have eczema you can give it a try but if you do not have any skin problem then better dont try alkaline water, just drink health water like 3M and Aquaphor. My doctor always tells me, for eczema you must drink more and more water

better get the info right as http://www.alphamaxind.com/wt1.html official website the model is A0840 not B. Moreover, went to check the website the B0840 comes with CARBON while the Alphamax A0840 is same as Perfect Steel using Micro Z media with NSF not carbon.

Actually we did discuss about this before, why some stainless steel sand filter so cheap and why some so expensive.
When a product is too cheap compared to normal market price, usually i will be extra careful and check the details.

The photo is posted is not perfect steel but another brand. Honestly speaking Perfect steel fibre is OK that is why i am selling it as well

It is not recommended to have carbon as well for landed properties to protect our water tank from bacteria. You can consider perfect steel sand filter
