Based on my opinion there is no point installing a pre-filter. Customers got AP902 because of the easy maintenance (no need backwash) and the small size. If you install a prefilter, the whole system will look bulky and ugly. It will also be troublesome to clean or replace the prefilter regularly. Hence, defeating the purpose of getting 3M AP902. If there is water disruption, usually SYABAS will send us a notice and do turn off the water supply and remove the cartridge. Once u r back from work, turn on the valve, let the dirty water flow out then only install back the cartridge.

These prefilters used to be very popular back then but maintenance is too troublesome, that is why people switch it sand filter and also 3M

If your 3M got clogged due to the SYABAS water cut, call us and i will teach you how to do a simple manual backwash. However, preventing it by taking out the cartridge is better than cleaning it

Is the 3M AP902 can be backwashed? The AP902 only last me for 30000 gallon of usage then the filter become dirty, it is quite high cost to maintain. Would installing a 3M 1M1 pre filter help?
Thanks

This sand external water filter with five filter media levels, the External Water Filter helps to filter unwanted sediment and dirt from incoming water, ensuring that the water dispensed from the External Water Filter is suitable for household usage.

External Water Filter has a Primary Point of Entry (POE) filter that helps remove sediment and other particulates throughout the following five layers of media: coarse, medium and fine sand, garnet and zeolite. The vessel is made of Fibreglass Reinforced Polymer (FRP) to ensure strength and durability.

- Utilises multiple media for filtration, including coarse, medium and fine sand, garnet and zeolite to effectively remove unwanted sediments.
- The Primary Point of Entry (POE) filter removes sediments and other particulates up to 10 microns for domestic or residential use
- Manual steering valve for backwash function and pressure gauge.
- Easy to use with low maintenance cost.
- 39 litre capacity.
- Ten years warranty on vessel against manufacturing defect. Two years warranty on manual steering valve and pressure gauge against manufacturing defect.

If u install this external 1, it will clog much faster compared to the AP902 and u need to either change or clean it regularly, you are staying in condo or landed? If landed change to our latest membrane multipore to save cost and better filtration 0.01micron, if condo and no place for backwash then your only best option is AP902

Hi, any 3M AP902 sellers here? Zheilwane perhaps?
I am interested to buy this outdoor filter for landed property, can you please pm me your price asap?

Received a quote of rm1800 including pre-filter and am not sure if it's a good deal.

I understand that maintenance is on the high side, what is the cost to change the membrane every 2 years?

If you're looking for landed unit outdoor water filter ,you could try 3M outdoor water filter model AP902. As for condominiums, due to management issue. I suggest either model AP 902 or Mini POE as both of these filters are installable indoor and outdoor.

As filteration, they both uses non-woven pleat filteration media membrane and no backwash needed.

Both using sand as filtration media (norminal 5 micron filtration), both also SUS 304 grade stainless steel hence durable but price perfect steel is much cheaper.

Design and size, perfect steel is better also. If u r looking for even better water filtration quality, get our new multipore membrane 0.01micron filtration.

Hi, can you share me more info on the new water filter that u mentioned?

Hi Zheilwane,
Is your latest membrane multipore the same as UF membrane you mentioned a while ago? You didnt’t recommend on using UF membrane back then due to the cons outweighing its pros.
Thank you.

Yup, regular UF membrane has several problems explained by our supplier and that is wht we didnt wanna sell it. With the new multibore design, my supplier say it is tested to be more durable. So, we sold 1 to a friend who insisted to get membrane filter due to the design, used for several months without clogging issue and good flowrate, so we started selling it in our shop. Upto date, feedback is very positive

Nesh is using hollow fibre membrane, similar to most brands in the market such as hydro1, aquarius, puregen and etc etc so many brands. So if u wan something better, u can try google on multibore membrane, this is the latest membrane design and claims that it is better than the previous hollow fibre
