you have to wait for Malaysian GNote to get the official OTA update from Samsung.

if u use local official then no..u still got ur apps..
if u wanna use the german version then it depend either u need or not to wipe ur data..

Added on May 12, 2012, 3:00 pmi think u need to know 1st..flashing the foreigner update consider as void warranty..go to 1st page under post #6 and read the articles..if u ok with it then u can flash the german version..if no then just wait til its available for malaysia..

Mostly the Chinese songs changed to unknown code n the english name seems like auto detected.
I'm using GB haven root n install any custom rom. Using original rom currently.

But i aldy installed google pinyin.

How I made my choice.
AP White RM1579.00 +3% CC = RM 1626.37 (you still need a monthly plan!)
SME White from DiGi RM1649.00 CC No charge. = RM 1649.00 (with RM48 x12 plan contract)

For RM23 extra, I chose SME set.

yes..u can..but u need to revert back to stock rom GB to get the update..

Tried install morelocale2. Able to read all chinese words, but the con is, everything turned to chinese...LOL

LC2 i guess. Now just sitting and wait for the update reach Malaysia.

finally, installed the PreRooted German ICS. Here is how it went:- (Mine was non rooted ICS Official German)

1. Read throughly over Benny's site.
2. Shut Down the Pohne. Boot to stock recovery mode and select wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache partition.
3. Restart from Recovery (Took longer then expected)
4. Boot into Download Mode
5. Launch PC Odin, follow the steps as descvribe by Uncle Benny.
6. Voila ! , installation was smooth.
7. Booting Up got stuck quaterly (exactly as per Uncle's benny descrption (http://leemn.wordpress.com/2012/05/11/flashing-pre-rooted-ics-official-rom-german-build-on-galaxy-note-n7000/)
8. Follow the method, pull the battery and restart the phone.
9. Installation continues, it the bar moves to the end.
10. Samsung logo appears (a way bit longer then usual), then installation apps begins
11. Tested the keyboard (previously stuck at keyboard character NULL). Perfect !
12. Test SU and Root Check. ROOTED !

All i can say is just follow uncle's benny's method and most importanly DONT PaNIC ! some processes does takes longer, way longer.

that is pre-rooted so u already hav CWM RECOVERY..but if u want cwm icon on ur menu just flash CF-ROOT-XXLC1 that i've attach together with the file u hav downloaded..

i also using 1mbps connection..so we r in the same boat..hahaha..
