Whether you are fresh grad or experienced worker, i notice 2 things will capture the interviewers attention; confidence and achievements.

So, working hard in uni, school and previous company WILL pay off well in your interview.

For fresh grads, those with public speaking and debating or oration experience will find their skills coming into play during the interview. Good eye contact, good pronunciation and slow, measured language with a steady cadence. Not just for show, but a polished presentation.

Hi all,
Does anyone know why future employer asked me to relocate near the workplace if I got the job? I currently live in Setapak but my future employer asked me to move to Klang if I got the job
*
I have never encountered such employer before, to me if an employee can make it to work on time I don't care where he stays.

Potential red flag on the employer if you ask me.

Well, that depends on the nature of your job and whether it’s time sensitive and requires you to report back on site on short notice?

I wouldn’t call it a red flag right off the bat, but I’d definitely ask for the rationale behind that request to be made known!

My interview next week will on zoom. I am so nervous because this will be my first one to be conducted online.
*
Remember the following:

1. Good wifi connection
2. Privacy (make sure young kids etc won’t be screaming in then background etc)
3. Clean, de-cluttered background
4. Dress formally
5. Be yourself smile.gif

Good luck and all the best!

One thing I want to point out about the dress code, if in doubt, ask the HR person
I asked for my video interviews and was told to just wear a dress shirt, no tie. At my level I am interviewed by the CEO/CIO/country managers and they themselves are even more casual

I remember my director told me that he was interviewed by the company VP at airport before the VP left the country.
And he got the job.

I guess high level position interviews are informal compared to low level interviews because not many ppl hold that positions in the same sector/ industry. Thus their reputations are already known.

At that level what CEO or VPs want to see is your motivation and your personality/fit in the organization
If you're ever interviewing at that level, definitely practice your story telling skills. Don't be like me and bore them to death, I think I've bombed interviews with two separate CEOs in 2 months biggrin.gif

Can't say without knowing what industry/position you are interviewing for.

But make sure you have decent internet, camera, mic and familiarize yourself with the platform you are going to use for the interview.

Had the interview yesterday. It was quite horrible as I was too nervous to string words into comprehensible sentences, my head went totally blank. But the interviewers was supportive. So I guess the most important thing other than good internet is to be calm. It was a good experience to had nonetheless.

hi guys just finished interview yesterday it all went well..they want to hire me and got into 2nd interview which is with hr manager..in the 1st interview i requested for about 40% increment in salary..as the 1st interviewer said usually they will negotiate my requested salary..can u guys share any strong reasons that will convince the hr manager to stay with the 40% increment? im thinking of saying that if i accept the job i might have to relocate which needed me to rent another house?and is it a valid reasons to ask them to consider the increament as in the only person whos working (my wife is full time house wife with 1 kid) u know la kids are getting bigger the living cost are also increasing nowdays etc2

(Please move this to the proper thread if I'm posting at the wrong place ya.)

So two items I'm curious about.

#01. How - or more precisely, what are the odds that HR department actually contacts a candidates previous Employer/Reference(s)?

#02. How & where does the HR check for a candidates Criminal Record (if any)?

depends or credibility or employer and document, but yes they do

"Colour Codes
1. Blue (Normal) - Citizen / Warganegara.
2. Green wave - Temporary Resident / Pemastautin Sementara (usually the MyKad have expiry date).
3. Red wave - Permanent Resident / Pemastautin Tetap.
4. Brown wave - Citizen with ex-criminal records / Bekas banduan warganegara Malaysia sahaja.

The colour stripes are not barely visible 100%, therefore you may need to tilt the MyKad to view the coloured stripes.

Note: Foreign citizens whom has been jailed in Malaysia will be sent off to their home country once the duration of their jail term ends They will not be kept in Malaysia and given any sort of MyKad or identity documents by our government."

if anyone got example of brown please show

How to answer this 2 questions:

1) Why teamwork is important?

2) What would you do if you saw someone cheating in front of you?
