I'm going to be interviewed tomorrow morning in the European car maker Peugeot (Nasim Sdn Bhd). I have everything prepared, except one thing, I have long hair. I kept them tied up in ponytail and uses hairspray to make sure it looks neat. But will that be enough? I'm not sure what pos will they assign me to because I was recommended by my former lecturer who is now also working in Peugeot. He knew I have long hair but probably didn't know I was keeping it until now. Any ideas or someone experienced that here? Would be great if you can share your story with me Thanks.

Even first job interview also not an issue actually. But it depends on the potential employer i believe.

Not necessarily. It should be fine for your fiance to go to the interview in her baju kurung. But just to be sure ask her to contact the company directly.

QUOTE(Mavik @ Dec 28 2005, 12:36 PM) Mistakes Made During the Interview: 1. This happened during my interview with a semiconductor company based outside of KL. They asked if I applied to other companies based in KL and they asked if I were offered a job in KL would I take it. Being my first interview and being naive and honest, I said yes. Thanks to that I didn't get the job.
Lesson 101: It does NOT pay to be honest. Employers just try way too hard to find the right worker, and end up turning off many suitable candidates as a result. This post has been edited by Dorky: May 9 2013, 08:42 AM

HR interviewers/managers are very judgmental kind of people. To them, first impression is everything - if you don't wear office outfit with the right tie and shoes, then you're out; never mind if you're competent. Must have Datuk or Tan Sri to be your reference, or else you're out.
After appearing the right way, the executive way, and having prominent people as your reference, the HR interviewer/manager will proceed to probe whether you're a top salesperson, whether you're a Romeo who can charm everyone (namely the customers and the office colleagues), whether you're the stuff of managers (can do your own planning, organizing, etc), whether you're a visionary person (like dreaming of becoming the CEO of that company you're applying for work), whether you're a natural leader (can lead and supervise all those below you), etc etc etc.

Next time when you have children, you must bring him up with a squeaky clean academic record and achievements, you must train him up to be a top salesperson, you must train him up to be a socialite, you must train him up to be a competent manager, you must train him up to be a visionary leader, you must train him up to be...... etc etc etc, just so your son can grow up to be hired as an employee.

If you want your son to be a successful entrepreneur/boss, well, you'll have to risk him committing a lot of failures.
Not encouraged.
To be a yes-man employee is much better.

No right or wrong and different people have different opinions about it.

In my case is pretty unfortunate; I have to find and develop my own encouragement (that's why I know it is critical).

Thanks it advance. Part time jobs, usually they will guide you through their procedure. Requirements is usually bring some documents with you such as your credentials (some of them will specify). Dress code, just dress smart. Depends on what the part time job is. If the part time job is to be a model, then you dress accordingly.

If yes that means you are the right candidate for their client (the company of the employment role discussed) 2. The organization outsourced the employment to certain companies ( i.e Maxis outsourced some of the roles to their partners) so you will be scheduled to meet up with the main organization. You should clarify that on the spot when you attended the interview...
