According to the report, the phone will be priced between 38,000-41,000 Rs which is the equivalent to approximately $760-$820 USD. In India, the carriers don't offer contracts so there are no subsidized phones and the handset can be purchased from Samsung or any authorized re-seller. The aforementioned price range dovetails with the 600 EUR that Amazon Germany is asking for the model (which is the equivalent of $790 USD) and the 499.95 GBP that the U.K.'s Carphone Warehouse wants for the phone. That works out to roughly $809 USD. The Carphone Warehouse deal includes a free Samsung GALAXY Tab 10.1 tablet for the first 100 customers that purchase the Samsung Galaxy S III using a monthly payment plan.

Most of the planet is expecting the Samsung Galaxy S III to launch on May 29th, although that will be the version offering HSPA+ connectivity. In the U.S., Japan and Korea, the version of the Galaxy S III launched will have LTE connectivity and won't be released until later in the Summer. Samsung did say that the Stateside launch will take place next month.


So expensive in India. But the free galaxy tab is interesting. But y not de tab7.7?

u are wrong dude..garage sales did represent the market..iphone, s2 and note are top selling in lyn garage now..look at outside u can easily see lots of ppls using those phone also..

another example evo 3d, hardly to saw ppls sell at lyn and of cuz less ppls using it outside..that's why the price drop like hell..some of my frens even don't know what is evo3d..oh gosh..

H1x

Most important points for phone
1) screen
2) design
3) software and app store


S3 uses last gen screen super amoled hd wt pentile matrix display, which is inferior to h1x super lcd2 and apple's retina.

2) s3 design looks fugly and made of cheap plastic. It even loses to s2 design. H1x is beautiful and uses polycarbonate material.

3) not really sure how the S suite of software fares, but Sense is a proven and beautiful software overlay.

Samsung choose pentile again for its flagship, it's a big cons really.

To those who didn't realised or said that it's indistinguishable with 720p display. Yes, pixel wise maybe, but pentile has this problem that you might not realise.

I have had experiences with Galaxy S, S2, GNex and Tab7.7. (have yet to stare long enough into GNote, will try next time). Pentile display tend to have this banding problem. Cause of this is unknown. My best best would be the sub-pixels are not created equal in size. Meaning if blue, each blue might not be same size to each other. Similarly to G and R pixels.

Whatever it is, the AMOLED+ display could eliminate the banding problem, or reduced it to minimal, which is barely visible.

Still wished that Samsung gone for HD AMOLED+ display. *sigh*
